Random Crashes (Access Violation)
Not sure exactly where to put this thread but this seems like the best spot.

Anyway, I can play Payday 2 just fine, right up until I start getting random crashes.

I always check the crash log and 90% of the time it says "Application has crashed: access violation". If it isnt that, it's usually "Application has crashed: C++ exception
Could not load texture because IDirect3D9::CreateTexture call failed.
Direct3D could not allocate sufficient memory to complete the call.".

Now I do use alot of BLT and Mod_Override mods and those may be the source of my crashes. Perhaps there's a limit on how much the game engine can handle?

I've already updated my drivers and such. I've also verified my cache but nothing seems to help. It mostly seems to start crashing after the first or second heist I've completed.

Crashlogs

IPHLPAPI.dll is not present in the Payday 2 main folder. This is indeed the best place for Crashlog, unless you are certain it´s a mod issue.
However, please only post the Crash.txt, and not the renderer_settings.xlm, nor the Crashlog.txt file. We ask for them if needed. They make threads unnecessarily long and cluttered. ^^

Your cash is casued by a 3rd part Software. Most likely a Anti-Virus program. Adding Steam and Payday to the exception list of all you Anti-Virus, Firewall and Defender Programs should fix it.

Alright, thanks. I noticed that link mentioned Raptr, which I do have running while playing Payday 2. I'm guessing I'll need to disabled or close Raptr before playing. I'll also try adding Payday 2 to my Avast anti-virus software.

Any idea what the "Application has crashed: C++ exception
Could not load texture because IDirect3D9::CreateTexture call failed.
Direct3D could not allocate sufficient memory to complete the call." could be about? Am I actually running out of VRAM or RAM?

In this case you´re running out of RAM. You meet the recommended requirements, so I´d go ahead and close all non enssential programs while playing.

I doubt you're running out of ram with 8GB though, it's more likely one of the programs mentioned blocked the memory allocation.
Let us know if the game runs fine without them.
Nerd Venom Sep 23, 2016 @ 3:23am
So, played through all 3 days of Firestarter OVK just fine. Started to host a Golden Grin OVK, someone joins in at the preplanning screen as I'm trying to change the music track for the heist and I crash.

Application has crashed: access violation ------------------------------- Callstack: payday2_win32_release (???) zip_get_name payday2_win32_release (???) ??? payday2_win32_release (???) ??? payday2_win32_release (???) ??? payday2_win32_release (???) ??? payday2_win32_release (???) ??? payday2_win32_release (???) ??? payday2_win32_release (???) ??? payday2_win32_release (???) ???

I already added Payday 2's folder to the don't scan exclusion list in Avast Anti-Virus. Here is what I know I have running while playing Payday 2.

Avast Anti-Virus
Comic Rack
Radeon Settings
Borderless Gaming
Internet Download Manager
Unified Remote Server
GameCompanion 2.4
Pushbullet
Steam (of course)
AutoHotkey
SteelSeries Engine
Logitech Gaming Software
Realtek HD Audio Manager

Try to disable all programs which may interfere with the game (start with Borderless Gaming, GameCompanion, Logitech Gaming Software).

The rest of the crash.txt is just "Current Thread: Main" and then my system information.

I'll try that later today, but Logitech Gaming Software is for my mouse and keyboard.

It might give some more informations. So far it´s a very generic Crashlog.
Best bet ould be to verify the game, and to run it without all non essential programs, as andole already suggested. Please ensure that you have nothing else running then the programs which are absolutely necessary.

Ok, I closed any program I could and disabled my anti-virus. Tried to play another Golden Grin heist and it went ok until someone tried to join in.

The crash.txt is below.

Application has crashed: C++ exception Could not load texture because IDirect3D9::CreateTexture call failed. EDIT:
So I turned down all the graphics options to low or off but left my resolution at 1920x1080 and I was able to complete the entire heist with no crashes. Is Golden Grin just very demanding?

Application has crashed: C++ exception Could not load texture because IDirect3D9::CreateTexture call failed. Direct3D could not allocate sufficient memory to complete the call.
This here indicates insufficent memory. Your game ran out of Ram. Which is very odd considering you meet the recommended requirements. Hm.

Do you, or did the host of the lobby, ran any kind of mods? Especially game changing ones to, for example, increase spawn rates heavily?

Like I stated in my first post, I run a bunch of BLT and mod_override mods. I was the host, the people joining in were public players. It might be possible that those are consuming more memory than I have available but I'm not sure.

The only mods that are game changing would be ones that change bots and the corpse limit. Can't think of any others right now.

That can very well explain it, especially the last one.
The GGC is very demanding, adding in an extended corpse limit ontop of that is asking for trouble.
Nerd Venom Sep 23, 2016 @ 6:18pm
As for my crashing from access violations, still no idea what is causing that. I'm guessing I'll have to be more choosy about what mods I use then or upgrade my PC.
