my pc blue screens when i try to start a heist

other games work fine but payday blue screens me and the stop code is allways CLOCK WATCHDOG TIMEOUT
and my specs are
Windows 10 Home
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core
16GB RAM
GTX 1660 Super
GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 super

Hi. I'd say you may have to test your hardware parts. Mainly CPU and Ram and motherboard since it could be some incompatibility issues or even unstable overclock on CPU and the Bus speed of your Ram. What's your motherboard? Full name if you can. You can check via the CPU-Z program. After that, try
- Updating your motherboard's BIOS to the newest stable version (Read the instruction from a company's website and proceed with causion)
- Reinstalling your GPU driver. Remove it by using DDU program first before reinstalling it.
- Check the clock speed of your CPU. You can do a quick test via the program called "Prime95"
- Check the Bus speed of your Ram. Make sure it's stable. Then test your ram using the program called "memtest86".
- Last but not least. If you can monitor your hardware temperature while you are testing it, it would be nice. You can use a simple program for example: HW+Monitor.

Let us know if those can help you or not. If you are not sure how to do. Feel free to add me directly. I'll try to help as much as I can.

my motherboard is a b450m pro-m2 max my bios is from 2020 but i'll try to update it carefully

May I ask what your CPU clock speed is? Is it a base clock speed? And what's your ram's bus speed? For this motherboard. Iirc. The maximum bus speed you should do together with your Ryzen 5 3600 should be around 3466 or less. More than that, it can give you BSoD(Blue Screen of Death)

May I ask what your CPU clock speed is? Is it a base clock speed? And what's your ram's bus speed? For this motherboard. Iirc. The maximum bus speed you should do together with your Ryzen 5 3600 should be around 3466 or less. More than that, it can give you BSoD(Blue Screen of Death)

Can you check if you have any error provided from the program Windows Event Viewer ?
1. Go to window icon. Search the program called "Windows Event Viewer" and launch it.
2. On the panel at your left. Go to Windows Logs >> Application
3. Leave the Windows Event Viewer program without closing it. Launch the PayDay 2.
4. After the game is crashed/closed/ Your PC gets restarted, go back to Windows Event Viewer program. On the right side. It should have "Error" at the Level section with that red icon. Click on it and copy what it informed you there and post it in this thread.

Also. What's your ram product full name? Is it Corsair somehow?

Still. I suggest you can try to change some settings for this game without changing the option in-game to test using the file called "renderer_settings.xml"

1. Open your window explorer or window search bar that is located in Windows icon on the bottom left.
   Copy and paste this line
   

   %localappdata%\PAYDAY 2

2. Find the file called "renderer_settings" right click and open it using notepad or notepad++ programs.
   
3. Find some lines like

i reinstalled windows and payday and did the options things but for some reason it only crashes when i try playing heists that i haven't tried yet is this like a problem with map rendering/loading or something like that, and is that of help to you?
