Payday 2 Crash On Startup; privileged instruction
I haven't played payday 2 but I want to get back into it but I crash on startup, I have tried reinstalling and verifying, I do not have hoxhud installed either.

It is caused by 1 of 3 things:

1) Bad memory (AKA, RAM). Try reseating, or replacing it.
2) (More likely) a 3rd party program that is trying to access something it shouldn't normally (like a virus, or a booster program that influences CPU output or somesuch. Badly written mods can also do this).
3) Really corrupted drivers.

So, I would read through that discussion carefully. Restore to a previous point (back up save game files and such if you like).

Then try again.

And if it is still occurring. Go into safe mode. Uninstall all drivers. Re-install them all one at a time. Update them (one at a time). Restart whenever prompted.

And if it is still occurring. Then you probably have some really bad memory, or a virus, or corrupted kernels.

And re-installing windows would then narrow down to bad memory or a really deep rooted virus.
