Menu Sensitivity is way too high.
This isn't talking about in-game turn speed, nor about mouse acceleration or DPI. Payday 2 is the only game that I cannot play because the menus feel so unintuitive to use.
My mouse moves about twice as fast in the Payday 2 menu than it does on my desktop.
I'm running a 1440p monitor at 144 hertz.
I don't want to change my DPI or use a quick change switch.
This is either a bug or a crappy deliberate design decision.

Are you using any external mouse programs to change DPI/sensitivy of your mouse?

I'm using Logitech G Hub and the On-Board mode so the DPI setting gets saved without interference from the program.

Can you check if the issue persist if you disable said program for the game?
Do you remember when this issue start happening? After recent update?

Closing G Hub and ending via Task Manager didn't help.
This isn't a new problem, it's been like this for a while. I remember a few months ago I opened up the game and was met with a fast cursor. It feels like it's gotten worse since then, and I have upgraded from a 1080p to a 1440p monitor.
Maybe the problem is the menu expects my resolution to be 720p or something?

Hi. Can you try these methods?
- Delete your renderer_settings.xml file. Click at your Windows icon, then type %APPDATA%\Payday 2 press enter. After that, delete renderer_settings.xml file and try to start your game to test it.
- Try to change a resolution in-game option. Then restart the game.

These did not work.

Out of curiosity, what is your mouse DPI?

I don't think this game likes high DPI. (and by high I mean, 1600ish)

I use 800 DPI and I have tried to double it to 1600, and halve my in-game sens - in the menu it was extremely fast, even though I halved the windows sens to counter it.

I understand from your original post that you don't want to change your DPI. but it's worth testing to see if lowering your DPI fixes the issue. You can always revert it.

I'm also using a 1440p monitor, for what it's worth.

1000 DPI. Just tried changing it to 800 DPI and it's still high in the menu, higher than desktop at 1000.

Assuming there's no fix? Bummer.

Ehi!

Just to be sure can you please tell me at what resolution you are running Payday 2? If you are playing on a lower resolution compared to your 1440p monitor it can result in a higher sensitivity in the menu.

With that being said, please locate the .exe file of Payday 2 (payday2_win32_release.exe), right click it and go on properties. Can you please post a screenshot of your compatibility tab? Also please open the DPI settings and post a screenshot of that one too!

Let us know.

Running the game at 1440p. Tried running it at 720p and 1080p, no luck. Tried disabling fullscreen, no luck.

Thank you for the infos.

Also sorry but there was a misunderstanding. What i meant with DPI Settings was a screenshot of the screen that appear when you click "Change High DPI Settings" at the bottom of your right screenshot.

Thanks.
Sadly looks like you are fine on those settings too. Really weird scenario you got there...

I found a fix on my computer. I have a mouse with buttons that turn the sensitivity up and down. I changed my windows sensitivity and used the buttons to adjust back to what felt like normal, and now the menu cursor speed is fine
