Payday 2 won't launch
So for the past week I've been having some problems with my Payday 2. A few days ago I went to launch it and all it would do is give me the message that it was launching then would disappear shortly after. I tried some of the simple stuff like verifying game cache or reinstalling it, but neither have worked. At one point after reinstalling it, under the downloads tab, it said there was a disk write error. I've tried everything that steam recommends including:
1. Verifying the cache
2. Reinstalling
3. Reinstalling to a different drive
4. Clearing my download cache

After trying everything on the support page with no luck I've come right back to where I've started, it simply won't launch. Is anyone else having or has had this problem? And if so how did you fix it?

Thanks for taking the time to help me out!

Ps: I don't play with mods so that wouldn't be the cause

Unfortunately none of these helped, some further research is leading me to believe it's a problem with my drivers, which won't update for some unknown reason. Thanks for your help anyways though

1)win + R
2)type %localappdata%
3)open payday 2 folder
4)Remove renderer settings file
5)If wont help - open file by notepad and change resolution/refresh rate to yours.
If wont help - launch the game as administrator and tell which error you will see

Sylvanas Windrunner after running as an administrator I was prompted with this message: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application."

Try this:
You need to enable Direct Play, that's what's causing the issue.

Go to Control Panel, then find Turn Windows features on or off, and under Legacy Components check DirectPlay, and then hit OK. Wait for a while for your PC to finish with everything, and the PC will need to reboot as well. It's all done in few minutes.

When I go to the windows features settings it is blank, I've been trying to find a way to fix that for the past couple days but it seems that the program people use to fix it, the System Update Readiness Tool, isn't available on windows 10
