Will the payday 2 ps4 edition require ps plus to play online?

Hello people I was wondering if payday 2 crimewave edition for ps4 will require a ps plus subscribtion to play co-op/ online because the single player is impossible to play :(

I don't think you understand how this thing works. Just as Xbox requires Gold membership to play online, PS4 requires PlayStation Plus subscription. It's Sony's choice, not developer's. Is that true? I was told that PS Plus was only when the developers used Sony's servers and not their own, and PAYDAY 2 is all peer2peer anyway.

I love how people on Steam have literally no idea about consoles :)

Not every game, and I don't believe it's even freebies only. But the list of disc-option games not requiring plus is much smaller than it used to be. I'm pretty sure there's some from last year-before that ppl played w/o plus. But especially if someone has a PS3 as well- plus is worthwhile.

And my recollection is pay-to-plays is another exception. PS4 got some since they waive the paywall for players who have to pay a subscription for the game.

yea PS4 games that dont require psplus ar usually the free to play MMOs.like final fantasy and DCUO etc etc.everything else you need psplus. another reason i sold my ps4. no reason to pay to play online anymore. yea the "free" games monthly are cool but microsoft has started to do this better by letting you keep those games forever, and i think psplus is still only if you have the membership going. so meh lol

Since the game is out on PS4 then yes you will need ps plus, your PS4 console cannot connect to online gaming services without it (ie - you cant access online functions in games or your friends list) its just like xbox live!

To clear up confusion, the PS3 had free online, PS4 requires ps plus.

Final Fantasy XIV is not a F2P MMO, it's sold on disc and it's subscription based. Maybe Payday 2 can do just like FFXIV and avoid Playstation Plus

It doesn't require PS+ because you already need to pay subscription every mouth.

Grab PS+ if you wanna play online. You got free games every mouth. Those games worth more than a 1 year membership pay even my region's PSN sucks.
MS's XBL Gold didn't let you keep the games forever anymore.

Games with Gold Offer for paid Gold members only; Active Gold membership required to play downloaded Xbox One games.

Also features like party chat, broadcasting, Game DVR, cloud storage won't work with a silver members account.
But PS4 just don't let you host a share play and use cloud storage with a normal account.


Just stop begging, it won't happen. Unless Payday 2 become TF2.
