The point is that the employee, despite being outside of the office, was acting unprofessional in the eyes of some consumers who have read the tweet.
If you want a CLEAR example look at none other than Mr. Phil Fish. There's a reason why he quit the gaming industry and it's because he was unprofessional with his consumers on Twitter, he slandered other games and generes, and simply pushed a lot of buttons when he shouldn't have not. This is the general concept that people thought about when he quit.
My stepdad owns a repair business, in my little neighborhood of mine. He acts professional, understanding, and keeps a positive attitude in front of my neighbors (even on social networks). This is because he knows one day they could be a potential customer and it it best to project only the best towards them. If word gets out that their friendly aquaitence owns a particular business (and the requirement arises for such a thing) they know EXACTLY who to rely on. You keep your best foot forward. It's why many large corporations try to either side in the "politically correct" opinions of issues or simply not give any at all. It's all about appealing to the consumer to initate trust.
Business is a lot like an arguement, my AP language arts teacher used to say, when I was in high school. The concepts of ethos, logos, and pathos still apply. You want to show you are informed of your own arguement by constructing logical, sound reasons to support yourself (logos), you want to appeal to the emotions of the audience (pathos), and you want to appeal to the audience by showing that you alone are a credible source of information. If you do not build any ot these, in any way, your arguement (and sale) could possibly fail.
Another example is in gaming. In some RPG's, your actions dictate how NPC's view you. If you acted like a thief in one area (and rumor got out), the NPC's in another area may not trust you as easily, even if those actions are beyond the "business" you run with other people. Why invest in a mercenary who is known for stealing things from their contractors after completion?
I hope you get the point and case I'm trying to make, no hate by the way (or on anyone else on this thread), I get your point entirely.

I just came to read the comments.
Now hang on a second. I thought the same thing when I saw another Cash.net guy had posted, but cut Dallas some slack -- he hasn't really done anything other than offer a summary (whose accuracy is up for debate) of the thread.
