Is Xbox One Payday 2 forgotten?

I love this game honestly to the point I bought the game and all DLC on both Xbox One and PC.

I first found this game on Xbox a long time ago and loved it but its really super outdated compared to PC and the last change I saw was the crimewave update and other than that I really haven't seen any other changes to it.

I'm only asking this because even though PC version is better I don't really have any friends to play with on here where as on Xbox I do but it sucks so much having to go to such an outdated version whenever i want to play with friends..

I would just like to know if its always gonna be so far behind or is their ever gonna be an update to get it up to where PC is? If not it's really not worth keeping on my Xbox..

because payday 2 has reached its end and won’t get anymore updates, console versions won’t be far behind for too long. the next update will add a lot and is almost ready for release. just stay tuned and there will be updates. but if you really want to play with your friends keep the xbox and if don’t really want to, get rid of it as i doubt there will be xbox exclusive stuff for payday 2

Nobody really knows for sure to be honest. Based off the past, going back to the 360/PS3 days, the devs claimed back then that the “limitations of those consoles” were to blame for them not updating the game. IIRC PS3 got 3 updates and Xbox 360 only got 1. So with the next gen of consoles it was supposed to be better, yet we still end up waiting months and months for updates. Almost every other company, even smaller ones, are capable of updating their games on all platforms within reasonable amounts of time but for whatever reason Overkill isn’t. At one point we waited over a year for a single update on console. They clearly just don’t care very much about the console versions, and must have devs that are just inexperienced with working on consoles as well as a pretty small team of people working on the console versions.

So with all that being said, the next update is supposed to add a lot of content. We won’t be caught up to PC though with this next update and we probably never will. My guess would be the next update (whenever it comes out, it’s been “delayed” even though we don’t even have any release date whatsoever) will most likely be the last major content update. I assume any updates after the next one will not be that content heavy and probably just bug/stability fixes. That’s just my guess though, hopefully I’m wrong but I doubt it with the way they’ve treated the console versions the past 6 years or so.

But if all your friends are on Xbox I would definitely say it’s at least worth keeping installed, the next update is supposed to be the best one yet and the game doesn’t really take up that much space GB wise. Just my opinion though.
