Unplayable with Controller - Stops working within a minute?!
Sadly the game is unplayable with a XBOX Controller. It works for a minute or so, then the Controller is not recognized any more. No errors or anything.

Tried 2 other games for >10 minutes and my Controller is working fine. But with this game the Controller doesn't work longer than 1 minute, then bugging out, forcing me to restart the game, to be able to play another minute...

Guess i have to refund for now.

This happened to me with a Hori Steam wireless controller, after 10 min my controller would not be recognized... i got a dev to answer me they said my controller was not supported 'officially' only xbox controllers and ps5 ones....
Same issue here. Been using an old stadia controller so not sure if that's the issue. It works for a while, then stops recognizing the controller and in addition my CPU goes absolutely INSANE and gets super hot/spins up all the fans until I quit the game. When I quit, the app stops responding so then I have to force close it.

Hope this helps.
Tried to recontact the dev on my post so they could maybe help you copied the link to this discussion in mine good luck if you have not refunded it

I did not mention in my original discussion but, i would have fan speeds go up and have to force quit the game as well

Hi there!

Please don't leave a negative review, that causes us a lot more pain than you'd think! I've seen your posts and have been looking into this issue today, I just wanted to have enough information to respond properly. I'm confident we can fix this for you :)

I can't see any reason yet for it to happen, and we've tested with controllers a lot (we all have various controllers on our desks!), so it's definitely unusual. There are lots of possible things happening here so I'd really appreciate it if you could send some more information to help us track it down.

What's very interesting is that the fans spin up and you have to force quit the game - is this what *always* happens when the controller stops responding? Or are you able to still control the game a little (perhaps with mouse and keyboard) - just that the controller stops working with the game?

Another thing that would really help is some detailed system information (it's possibly a driver issue) and some game logs. The whole user data folder would be best - could zip up the "Two Point Museum" folder from here:

C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\LocalLow\Two Point Studios\ (type %APPDATA% in to file explorer and press enter)

System information you can generate using DXDiag, we have a guide for that here:
https://support.sega.com/hc/en-gb/articles/201556491-Creating-a-DXDIAG-Report

Could you then either head to our bug forum here (which allows attachments): https://community.twopointcounty.com/two-point-studios/two-point-museum/bugs - or email them to support@twopointstudios.com (might need to upload to wetransfer/GDrive or something if they're too big for email).

Thanks,
Ben

I can continue playing with mouse/Keyboard, but my Fans also go crazy. When i try to close the game i get the "Program not responding" message and have to force close.

I've sent the requested information to the support mail.

Hey Ben thanks so much for the response! For me, the exact order is

1) Controller is working and playing the game fine
2) Brief "hang" where the game freezes for about a second
3) Controller no longer responsive
4) Fans spin up to max, CPU heats up until it throttles
5) Can still open the pause menu, so pause, quit to desktop
6) Game goes nonresponsive after clicking quit to desktop and I have to force close with task manager

I tried three times last night and it happened the exact same way every time. I will grab the info you requested and send it over. Appreciate you all taking a look!!
I have this exact same issue on Legion Go. The mouse function works but literally every button on the Legion stops working all at once.
Just responding to this thread to say I have had the same issue with multiple controllers. The game itself will still run fine with mouse and keyboard, but the controller is no longer recognized. When I exit the game to try to get the controller to work, the game goes unresponsive and I have to force quit.
I'm also having this issue, though sometimes it happens quickly and other times it takes a few hours. I'll submit a bug request with my information too. Using an 8bitdo Xbox controller.

So I've had the same issue but might have a workaround. note I'm using a Legion Go which uses the Xbox controller api and works well with every other game I've tried.

So the workaround is simple: use the steam controller mapping engine. Usually this messes up some certain games so I default to having it off, but if you turn it on for this game it seems to workaround whatever issue is causing this. At least from initial testing I was able to play for a couple hours without issue doing this.

hope others find this helpful and maybe also helps the dev understand where it might be having issues. I'll update if this fails for me.

Hi everyone - I just wanted to update to say that we're looking at this and hope to have a fix in a patch. We've ordered a Legion Go and will also look at getting some of these other controllers as well.

Thank you for that additional info W1z@rd83 I will pass that on to the programmers now!

Sorry for this problem!
