Temperature?
In previous Two Point games, the heating or cooling mechanic was for the benefit of staff and guests (patients or students).

From what we've seen of Two Point Museum so far, this mechanic seems now to be for the benefit / maintenance of certain exhibits (i.e. cooling for frozen items, heating for tropical plants / fish).

Does this mean that we don't need to worry about staff / guest temperature comfort in this game, and instead just focus on exhibit needs? That makes sense to me, since I'm not sure how possible it would be to split the difference between keeping an exhibit frozen and the viewing guest's temperature comfort high at the same time.

(Abby, if you can confirm either way, I would be interested to know).

Heyo!

Yep, you're right - in Two Point Museum guests and staff aren't worried about the temperature, however it does effect exhibits. There's also now a humidity factor as well, where some exhibits need to be in dry or humid conditions otherwise they become damaged (or in some cases even die!).

So for example Bungle Wasteland (which we showcased on socials earlier) has a really dry desert climate, so getting the humidity up is a lot of work if you want to keep lush tropical botany exhibits, but it's perfectly dry for fossils (:

And your right about fish temperature too, the aquariums have three different 'climates': temperature, tropical and coldwater. Aquariums have their internal heater/cooler items, as well as different feeders (flakes and fresh food).

Thank you, Abby! This is such a fun aspect to juggle, but I'm relieved to hear that we don't also have to worry about guests at the same time as exhibits when it comes to temperature.

I am especially excited to see the biome-inspired layouts people will create -- I imagine you can get some great synergy (aesthetically, if not mechanically) happening between Frozen Finds, coldwater tanks, and Mountainous Plants. The world will truly be our small mollusc.
