I'd pay for the preorder pack
Hello awesome Two Point & SEGA teams,

Awesome game you got here!
I missed the Sonic stuff, and I'm ready to pay for them ^^

Can you make my wish come true?

That's not the preorder pack (I already have the Explorer pack)

The preorder version is for Sonic the Hedgehog content ingame.

Sucks I missed it, would purchase it too.

That's the Explorer upgrade, it is not the same item unlocks as the preorder bonus items. There is no option to purchase the pre-purchase pack (what it is called in the DLC list for those who have it) now that the game has released.

Sorry for that, I didnt know.

Developers should definately make this available to buy for customers in an additional pack then for players who came later and are interested.

There is no reason not too. The items are pretty much useful too. I always place the Sonic next to the Sonic machine.

Lets see maybe devs response :-)

It's pretty rare for pre-order bonus items to get sold after a game has been released. It happens, but not very often.

The reason is simple, if a publisher/developer has a history of just selling preorder bonus upgrade packs after release, then the preorder bonuses of their future games lose their ability to lure people into pre-ordering.

I'm not saying I agree with it (or that I don't agree with it), only that basic marketing practices makes it rather unlikely they will add such an upgrade option any time soon. They haven't done so for the Two Point Campus preorder items, at least not yet, and it's been nearly 3 years since that released.
They could link it to the Explorer Edition or to Two Point County account, maybe? But I'd definitely put a few bucks on a Sonic DLC ^^

To be fair, if it costs money after the fact, but you get it for free by preordering, there's still incentive to do so.

Not entirely true. Game's have sales after release, allowing you to wait to get the game at a lower price. That fact, which all customers are well-aware of, is the main reason pre-order bonuses even exist. To encourage folks to buy 'now' rather than wait until a game has a sale price.
If you're lucky, they might make it available in 2 or 3 years down the road; some games do that. Not very many. But I've seen some did. Don't get your hope up though; it doesn't give any gameplay advantages. And we have mods for the game day-one. You can just get other decorations from mods.
I think there can be some legally binding issues if it was promised the items as a limited offer to the people who bought it early, - but IP laws are not always straightforward, so not really too sure.

This hasn't got anything to do with IP laws. This is simple commercial law.

The seller promises that an item is time exclusive. So if you sell it later, you've deliberately mislead those consumers that made the same purchase at the time you promised that it was the only time they could buy that stuff.

All they have to do is to say that they were mislead - and they would be - and they'd be liable for monetary compensation.

So SEGA's lawyers aren't foolish enough to fall into that trap.

You are completely right, it's obviously not IP law, - although commercial law is no less straightforward, you are correct.
It's kind of the same as kickstarter bonuses. Rewards for contributing before a certain time. They can't really just give them to everyone after the time has passed, or what would be the point of the bonus?
