Is it possible to remove floor tiles?

I like the look of the basic floor in the first museum, but I painted too much and I cant figure out how to remove it. Is this a bug?

Use the "Ctrl" key on the floor you want to copy. and fill the painted floor with that copy.
You can also go into floors, and use the Marble floor that's the shiny orignal floor, and fill the painted parts.
