No Spirit key

My first museum has 2 stars
I am Curator level 2
I have not been given a key nor can I create one
Is this a bug?? I can't progress without!

When you enter the workshop menu to select what to make, there's tabs at the top to switch between items for your museum and items for exploration. It'll be under the exploration tab

The key unlocks the deeper you go. You could be locked by not completing a task. Finish any current objectives you have listed and on the map page click the hidden map locations and see what the criteria is to unlock them, sometimes you need to bounce around the map before something unlocks, it's not always linear in travel. I remember opening a map which needed the key and I had to work on something else before I got the plans in the workshop to make the key, so just triple check all your objectives and work on other things. This happens on other maps too, you get item lock and you need to hit goals before the item is available, like install perks, analyse for knowledge, market campaigns, etc.

It doesn’t appear anywhere for me, I tried looking and then I searched it up, did everything it told me to do but still nothing

You see when I searched it, it told me to 2 star my first museum, then become curator level 2, which I have done. Even levelled up a janitor to workshop level 2 but still nothing appears. Apparently after 2 staring your first museum a spirit should talk to you and give you a key to start with, which never appeared for me

Have you finished all the tutorial missions in the prehistoric museum?

Spirit key should be obtainable after you get the supernatural museum to one star.

The same thing happened to me. After getting one star in Mile I went and did Passwater, then Bungle, and then Pebberley, following the curator's prompts and getting them all to two stars. I then went to Wailon to raise that one as well, got it to one star, and never got access to the Spirit Key. I restarted a new file and instead of going to Passwater I went to Wailon after Mile and got the Spirit Key no problem. I think there is an issue if you do things outside of a specific order (still within what is within the parameters of the storyline, but not "optimal") you don't get the ghost prompt to get the key.

Did anyone find a fix for this? I’m almost curator class 7 now and have no quests in the ghost museum and have completed every expedition and still nothing in workshop or anyone popping up. I’m at 1 star In this level but 3-4 stars in all the other museums

Just bumping this as still a big issue with my save and nobody ever seems to answer it.

Hello! Im sorry you’ve had this bug, and also that we’ve somehow missed this thread!

We thought we’d fixed the underlying issue here but it sounds like we haven’t so we will continue to investigate.
