Except you don’t have the perks to upgrade with as getting perks seems very RNG based. The fact remains The security feels that it has to be perfect to even stand a chance to be effective. You spend so much time trying to fix security that you end up neglecting the other parts of the museum such as expeditions and stuff training just to deal with thieves.

Remember, a lot of the people who are having issues have also been at this for quite a while, and figured out how to do it "right" long ago. All it takes is a play session or two of having a well staffed and camera'd museum start losing exhibits due to problems that we've been reporting since Day One and you might start to understand why many players believe it isn't fine and are asking for the option to toggle it off in Campaign and/or a large rework.
All mine are 4+. At this point, when there is a thief spree, I stop playing the game so i can drag my guards around. If something gets stolen, I quick load.
I guess it's good that thief system sucks so much in this game otherwise it would be too close to being perfect, and we can't have that.
please tell me of a single museum anywhere on earth where there is no security? i'd like to upgrade my decoration.
There's a lot of people who have simply voiced their displeasure with the current system, and many who have offered suggestions, but very few have said they want it flat-out wiped for everyone.
On all exits i make a small room and put a security door that everyone has to go thru before getting in to the musum.
So all regular criminals gets spoted and they simply run away before even getting inside the museum.
For the toilet ones. I put cameras outside of the bathrooms.
So i can drop a guard on them when getting a notification.
For the mole ones it is a bit harder to keep away.
My advise there is to have cameras here ant there (Defenetly on your most rarest exibits. Also put a security perks on them. (do not sell duplicates of exibits, put them in the deconstructor to get perks. specially if you are not using the bungle burrows map). and a good amount of guards.
Also when that heist starts i simply drop everything else and put my focus on finding them. Good thing those heists doesnt apear to often.
I mean seriously - if the theft it so instantaneous if you let even one security lapse even a little. I have so many security cams and doors and guards... They should have at least have given us an achievement - "have exhibit stolen and ransom it back".
A better and more realistic solution would be exhibit theft being very rare, but instead security are mainly there to stop people damaging the exhibits. Attempted theft from the gift shop should be very common.
