I've never had any issues with security. Don't dumb down the game just because a couple of people think it's too hard.
Yup, I have security doors on every entrance, I have cameras everywhere, I have security chairs and roaming security. I have fully upgraded and perked security offices. My security guards have strolling surveillance and wide vision or whatever it's called. They are assigned to their zones. NONE OF THAT changes the fact that I get the thief pop up every 1-2 minutes in game.
most of which should just run away without needing to intervene. the only time i have to intervene is when the moler guild pops up every couple of hours.
I do agree that they should tone down the spawning rate of the thieves. That popup appears way too often.
The talk about removing thieves all together in campaign isnt going to happen.
Campaign is suposed to be challenging. (not impossible but challenging) Things and events that can not be removed. (easy and hard mode i agree on).
If you all want to remove entire functions to the campaign, we can remove the entire campaign. What is the use for a campaign/story mode if it is going to be like a sanbox anyways. If you want to play the game as a sandbox, go play the sandbox mode then. That is what sanbox is for.
Not only in this game but in others to. As fast there are something that is a bit anoying or that you need an strategy to fix that anoyance. (no mather how small) People imediatly compllains about it and wants the entire game "fixed".
-Oh I got a problem I cant fix because i do not know what a security camera is used for. because I totaly ingnored the tutorial.-
-Oh how do you use a security door? Im to lazy to go look at a 5 min video on how to use it. Better to use that time and complain about my problem instead.-
I played the entire campaign. All museums up to 5 stars.
And i got one. ONE exibit stolen (in the aquarium museum)
How did i get it stolen?
Because I forgot to place a security gate/chair or camera at one of the entances.
If you do not want to deal with the thieves. Place a security gate and cameras/chairs att every entance door to the museum and a camera/chair guarding every bathroom door.
Poof no more thieves in the museum because they will run away as fast as the security notice them. (Ingnore the notif because that will be spaming)
The only time you need your full atention on thives is the moles.
Because they will appear anywhere in the museum. they often spawn 3-4 each time.
Easy fix. Pause the game look for their tunnels, (the thief is not far away). pickup the closest security and drop them on their heads.
But aparently playing the game as it is suposed to play is not enought for some people.
I would propose to simply make the "ransom" event more likely and to add "thieves bases" on the map that we could raid to get our stuff back (possibly with like 4 security guards to go on them).
That would fix all the issues I have with this mechanic.
There is a difference between challenging and annoying. Challenging is good! I like challenging. Figuring out stuff and solving problems is fun! Annoying is bad, though. If a mechanic is annoying, it doesn't add to the game, it detracts; especially if the annoyance is because the mechanic has serious design flaws.
Besides, a story-mode/campaign is basically a long, drawn out tutorial teaching you the game, introducing new mechanics bit by bit. Switching one mechanic off after introducing it wouldn't change that.
And just because you don't see any reason to make a change, doesn't mean nobody else does. Let people enjoy games in any way they like to; what's it to you? You aren't impacted by an added option if you don't wanna use it. Nobody wants to take the thieves away from you, so why are you complaining?
no it isn't, only a few objectives are tutorials, not the entire campaign otherwise it would be called tutorial, instead of being called campaign.
i actually like this idea, making the guild bases raidable. it would provide an extra avenue for leveling security guards too.
