XP gain on security guards far too slow
The leveling speed on security guards, unless they are in a camera room, is crazy slow. For example, I have two guards that were hired days apart 12 years ago game-time. The one that has camera room training is now level 11, but the one with Strolling Surveillance - who was actually hired first - is only level 4. The XP gain from sending them to the space station and such is in no way worth the 25k for what little XP you get in return, and there's not enough missions that require a guard to balance out a moderate XP gain with getting dozens of the same item and tying up a helicopter practically full time for the number of guards we have to have to make it worth it.

Any chance they could get a bump?

Leveling is all over the place. The only time they get XP is by doing actions, but since in museum actions aren't that extreme, or a lot for most jobs, they level up very slow.

I agree, and that's part of the problem. Watching cameras counts as an action, but sitting in a chair and watching people doesn't, nor does collecting donations, even though they each are toggleable as actions.

my kingdom for the ability to send staff to the training room to jump a level. that would help.

i have two level 16 assistants, three experts who are at least level 9, three janitors who are over level 5...

but only three of my security guards have achieved level 5, never mind surpassed it.
A bit off topic, but does anyone else think the rate at which you can rack up in-game years is a bit high?

I kinda think so, yeah, but on the other hand there's no year-end goals of any kind other than the minimap scenarios, so I can't really name any reason that it should/could be slowed down. I do know what you mean, though.

To be honest the boosts staff get for acquiring skills past level 1 is almost negligible and it kind of seems like it does nothing outside of give staff members wildly inflated salary expectations.

In my opinion it would be annoying if the staff levelled up any faster, especially security guards. Most of them don't need the training but they angrily demand it. It's unnecessary expenditure that our museums don't need.

Guards best level when watching cameras and only collecting donations, security is useless for leveling just as it is useless in gameplay.
If you wanna have high level security don't hire anyone without the skill to look at cameras and rotate them as you need until they reach desired level. Also a guard just focusing on donations will level very fast especially if he has some movement speed training, given the museum is big enough for them to collect a bunch of donations.

Neat trick to level your experts is to use analysis machine and cancel whatever is being analyzed before it's done and repeat, you can level them to max that way if you want, if you wanna max out an assistant give him marketing full time.

There are expedition locations for Expert staff to gain XP, why not have ones for support staff too? They go on expeditions as well, they need/deserve it as much as the Experts, IMO.

Awesome, thank you, I’ve been pristine grinding Memento Mile while I wait for a bug fix on Bungle Wasteland, but the Hotel is probably next on my list.

Edit: oh, I’m just dumb. I have that location and straight up forgot about it.

I think you just saved me about 12 hours of grinding. I had looked for something like it, but didn't see it.
