From my experience, up to 4 stars you can basically collect exhibits from one map only and for 5 stars you might need to venture other maps here as well, at least if you keep only one or 2 of the same exhibits around. Visitors here also don't really care about certain layouts or themed areas unless you want to run tours, which in the later stages of the game don't earn much in comparison to gift shops or cafés.
In regards to styling your museum, I guess there are more than a handful of YT videos or Twitch streams that you can use as inspiration, if you want so. Also, here in the screenshot or artwork gallery you can find enough pictures, screenshots, videos and so forth you might take inspiration from.
Hey thanks for the response. I know the customers don't really care about the layout.. but my OCD/perfectionist side does ahaha. I became discouraged when the first level added the whole new building and I didn't know how to make a museum with multiple themes. My weak creative side burned out, so I wanted to see if someone had a better way of doing it, and a more attractive way too.
