One-way arch needs reworking
It should be able to work on walls of rooms. If the goal here was to avoid players corralling into a room, that is still easy and possible only using partition walls and a room. Also, you should be able to put decorative arches OVER one way arches... making them then also provide one way access...

I keep trying to make a gift shop entrance/exit circuit and it makes me need to make anterooms that have one way travel... maybe someone else knows a better way.

It's a great idea if you could use archways over normal (open) rooms.

I too make the small room to force the traffice.

I call this the forced exit through the gift shop :)

That's an awesome design! I hadn't though about using partition walls for ticket booths like that... despite that literally being how most are in real life lol

Ideas & Suggestions

But yes adding one-way archways to rooms (or one-way and even staff-only versions of their native doors) would be lovely.

Regarding decorative one-way arches, in the meantime there are mods.

Yes, would be nice if all archways/gates had the option to be somehow set/constructed as one way only.
Including building main and side entrance, gift shop and cafeteria doors.

Also, I wish you could put them also in the fences (like the half height glass wall) not just full walls.

Yup, like that you can put the sponsored plushies in the shop, and the sponsored
billboard on the wall just opposite the gift shop exit.
Makes sure guests don't get annoy by them too soon, and squeezes the last bit out of everyone when leaving.

Just make sure you have another gift shop (without sponsorships) somewhere sooner.
Cause if the only one is at the exit, many guests will have ended their visit somewhere before, and walk right trough it.

You could put a 2nd metal detector on the entrance side, in case the guard is not at his chair.
Also one in front of every toilet, to counter the thieves entering trough them. + a camera as backup on all of them.
Thank you all for chiming in! Glad it isn't just me who'd like to see these changes. Another one I had thought off: staff doors for rooms. Right now, staff doors work the same way as the one way arches (e.g. they need to be on a partition wall) but it makes more sense that gift shop employees could say, leave for the break room via a staff door...

True, but I usually just put a camera (it's slightly visible in the screenshot) as a backup. Not sure if it's just as effective but it works.
IMO "one-way" and "staff only" should be attributes that can be set on the doors themselves, rather than separate doors in themselves.

Though I recognise that it may not be so straightforward on a technical level to have them function that way.
I use a one-way-in design with a metal detector, sometimes two, that removes quite some thieves and vandals without needing manpower.

How about some themed one-way doors that include security detection? :steamhappy:
