Keep in mind that there are in total 5 maps in sandbox mode, each with different theme, different exhibits and different challenges.
- Prehistoric stuff at Memento Mile
- Aquarium at Passwater Cove
- Surnatural at Wailon Lodge
- Science at Bungle Wasteland
- Space at Pebberley Heights
Yes, you start all over from scratch but it is still a fresh experience.
I already finished the campaign and 100%d the game, I just wanted to go to sandbox and build out a super museum, but now I have to grind everything out again. It just doesn't make sense
The update is on the beta branch of the game already. You can read more about it in this thread.
The only exception I can think of, off the top of my head, would be the one that requires leveling up Wailon. I'm not far enough along in my sandbox to check that. I'm not even sure if the unlock condition for the POI is even the same in Sandbox, nor whether you can get Wailon outside of Wailon Lodge if it is true.
You have to unlock them in a path, doing an unlock reveals the ones past it, so until I progress to unlocking them on a map that isn't Passwater Cove, I could not say for sure. But thus far, unlocking POI's on any map reveals the next chain of POI's, regardless of what map I am on when I do the unlock.
There is an option in sandbox in the beta to unlock everything else from the start; workshop projects, enlightenment, kudosh unlocks, etc. But nothing for map POI's.
