So many different room styles, some pet friendly and some not, need multiple conference rooms, a hotel restaurant, pool, spa, wedding venues.
Special guests can arrive, sort of like the celebrities in 2P Museum but BETTER, because they actually TELL YOU what they want.
Anyway yes! This!
One of the best things about the Two Point games is that they tackle more unique ideas, taking the road less traveled, instead of being "just one more game that does the same thing a little differently".
I'd buy a Two Point Hotel, pre-purchase, despite having 0 interest in the concept prior to the idea being floated. I'd buy pretty much any Two Point game. But if they did Zoo (or theme park), I'd probably wait until it was on sale rather than purchase it on day 1. I already have multiple games for both of those things.
I mean, their first game was a nearly 1 to 1 clone of Theme Hospital, but yeah, Campus and Museum are both out of left field, which works to their favor. I think Hotel or Mall could do well. And while a Zoo or Theme Park game would work, I do think it'd be better to focus on less thoroughly explored themes. I feel like Mall would end up feeling a lot more like Museum, though. But Hotel could work nicely as its own thing. Could also borrow elements like the emergency from Hospital, but have it be conventions or something.
It made sense for them to play it at least a tiny bit safe for their first title. I'm loving how they just went for unique ideas after that success though.
It's not Two Point, but it's close enough to prove the concept...that hotels are generally sleepy and repetitive places, particularly compared to museums.
Hotels are boring places where not much happens. People go there to sleep. I think there are much better ideas.
Hotels can be more than just sleeping. Many of them will have cafes and restaurants, maybe you need to coordinate the valet parking, provide concierge services.. Different guests could have different preferences and you need to have rooms available that more-or-less meet their desires. Build entertainment like an arcade or a pool or sauna, host chaotic conventions and conferences.. I could see a fair amount of stuff to do that would fit well enough into the Two Point gameplay loop.
I can imagine you could have themed hotels, pirates and such, and spooky hotels (like we, kinda, sorta have in Museum)!
And a +1 to Hotel Architect - they aren't affiliated with Two Point in anyway, but we've chatted on our social channels a couple times and they seem a lovely little indie team - def worth checking them out ^^
