How is performance for you guys?
Im runnin an i7 7700k and a RTX 3060. I am working on 4 star for my main museum and am getting about 20-25ish fps. Turning down the settings doesn't seem to do much either. Ive got 330 people in my museum at the moment.

So far it's good for me. My largest museum has ~600 visitors and I haven't had any performance issues.
CPU: i5-9600K CPU @ 3.70GHz GPU: Nvidia RTX 2060 Super

I run with all settings on High except for shadows which are on medium, and Bloom and AA which are disabled entirely (because I hate them, not for performance reasons). Edit: Also, Vsync: off, because that's my goto default unless I see tearing.

Performance is an issue and developers are actively working on improving it. See also: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2185060/discussions/1/603024330654261053/#c603024330654272483

I pre-ordered explorer edition, got 5 days earlier in before public release. Since then pumping daily. I`ve reached several limits and currently I am unable to play, so its problematic.

Curator XII (12), 43 stars, biggest museum capped at lvl 100 and 3000 visitors

Currently I can`t play the game anymore because even after the latest hotfix the savegame size was increased, I ran into the maximum savegame size limit AGAIN. So I can´t even go higher than Curator 12, because engine can not write such big savegames.

CorruptSaveException: Save file level body uncompressed size is too big

I have send my savegame to the developers for performance and savegame improvements.

You're still working on that one even with the problems it's had? Dude, we have to order you a pizza, you have a lot more patience than I did. (I've taken a break until I know I can work on my campaign without having to stop all the time to work out something due to the bug of the week.)

i have never experienced any game, ever, use a save file limiter, why in the heck does this game have one? o_O

This might explain why the game crashes on exiting for me sometimes then

If this was their first game i would tolerate it, but this is the third game, with a crap ton of DLC's and patches that educated the devs to fixes issues, why is this game so badly optimised? i don't understand.

It's Unity. Kind of expected.

Same here... And it's not a question of the pure power of the processor, but most likely the use that the game makes of it, because I'm experiencing the same problem with an i7 13700k that seems to sit at around 20-30% with my fps going progressively down to around 40... more or less. My Gpu, a 4070ti, isn't that busy either... and lowering the graphics settings doesn't seem to make any difference.

Hey Mac - The reason that we have save file limiter is due to memory. BiLL ƬӇЄ ƘƖƊ is so far the only person to have reached this limit though :) We've increased it to 16 MB in the next patch. We allow players to remove the recommended visitor cap in the settings if they want to... but the recommended is 400

Sorry you are having some stability issues - If you wouldn't mind sending us your Two Point Museum folder, we can have a look what you've causing your crashes?

If you are using windows, you can find it here; C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\LocalLow\Two Point Studios\ (type %APPDATA% in to file explorer and press enter)

If you zip it up and email to support@twopointstudios.com I can take a look! (with a link to this thread or your Steam name)

I feel like the recomendded 400 would shoot way up in the first museum as you unlock the other plots would it not? Im finally starting to make a marine building and i am nearing that, with 2? more plots left iirc.
Wowee Ree who could thunk it!
A save file limiter has REASON to exist...
What kind of megamind would bemoan such a thing that has an obvious reason to exist?...
Here's a dumb tip - try fiddling around in the Steam Overlay after loading into a game.

I was also having performance issues. Went from High to Medium settings, still persisted, went from Medium to Low, still persisted. One time needed to load up the Steam Overlay for something and I noticed the performance in game improved instantly to a normal framerate.
