What traits do you like for your staff?
I'm just wondering what people prioritize as traits for the staff that they hire. I always cycle through hireable staff and hire only those with traits that I want (which makes filling staff super tedious), so I'd like to hear what other people do, and why, in case I'm missing potential hires by being too picky.

Here are my own trait preferences/requirements:
Experts:
  • Eloquent - if they will be a tour guide
  • Nimble - if they will be on restoration duty
  • Analytical - if they will be assigned to Analysis
  • Globetrotter in a pinch if I'm looking to fill out the roster with people for doing expeditions.
Assistants:
  • Nice Smelling - for all of them except Marketing workers.
  • Loyal - For those who will work in Marketing, to save a few pennies.
  • Nimble - if it shows up with Nice smelling or if I'm just in a hurry to add staff and it's what is available.

Janitors:
  • Nimble - for all

Security:
  • Nimble - for all
  • Peripheral Vision - if it shows up with Nimble, I'll hire them even if I don't really need to add security.

Honorable Mentions:
  • Loyal - If this shows up with one of the above traits on a hireable staff, I hire them whether I actually need them or not. I'll fire someone else who doesn't have it if I'm too overstaffed.

I feel like most of the other traits are mostly useless and will never hire anyone with a negative trait other than "Delicate".

I've found it useful to have a couple of experts with the 'Sea Legs' or "Snake Charmer' traits (these are comparatively rare traits compared to all the others mind you) and using them specifically for expeditions. Train these guys up correctly and you can ignore more negative expedition traits.
Great list!

Globetrotter for atleast 1 of each staff type because some expeditions require all flavours and i like to create a dedicated team to just spam expiditions - this means they wont be happy UNLESS - globetrotter :D

besides that this list is exactly my own preferences. HOWEVER traits are just too damn inconsistent and unreliable and often is the case you get good trait with awful skill

I really wish they would allow us to "overwrite" skills ... the concept of reprogramming staff is not alien and it would alevitate SO MUCH tedium and heartache in pretty much EVERY. SINGLE. TP game.

Docs and Nurses in Hospital, Assistants in particular in Campus and Experts in this.

I mean given how much people used Mitten for the superbug initiative SPECIFICALLY because the staff are clean slates .... WHY TPS why ..... what do the designers have against this i would love for one of them to come in here and list one valid reason.
I love Photographic for my experts who will be going out collecting exhibits
I haven't bothered with Photographic or Globetrotter much since my first museum, after realizing that the "away team" is going to vary quite a bit depending on which POI I'm sending them to, due to variance in the skill requirements for events.
I pretty much snap up everybody I find with the boost to survey % on expeditions, even if I already have some, because you never know when you might suddenly unlock a new POI that needs more staff than expected, like send 4 janitors.

Loyal is especially handy early game before you've unlocked good money makers, and nimble is especially handy later when the museum has grown a lot. I tend to prioritize peripheral vision for security and nice smelling face for assistants if they don't have any hires available who are loyal or nimble.

Sometimes I hire bad trait staff on purpose to risk on MIA missions. I rename them TEMP and try not to get attached, but it's hard. I used to callously get rid of staff all the time in campus and especially hospital, but museum staff I really hate to see them go.
Eloquent and Nimble are basically the only positive traits I care about. The rest are "Ok, its not a negative trait." Which I am ok with because sitting for 10 minutes rerolling to get a trait is not fun and thus not done.

Once I am past the early economy and am rolling in cash I grab every Eloquent that doesn't have a skill in the way. Up to a point of course.
