Report a translation problem
It's literally the same rotate controls as placing any object on the floor, just changes direction based on the wall orientation...
Some of us use the keyboard to rotate items - which, as OP indicated, doesn't work on doors for some reason. I could've sworn I'd tried clicking and dragging to rotate doors, but it didn't seem to work. I'll have to give it another try.
EDIT: Actually, it's simpler than that. You just move your mouse to one side of the wall or the other; no clicking required. How I managed to go this long without figuring that out, I don't know. Now I'm off to fix all the doors in my museums that open the wrong way.
