"Too much litter"
I've played the other games, so I'm familiar with needing bins and spotting litter on the ground, but in this game I haven't seen any litter on the floor at all. And yet the health inspector said there was too much. Any tips or advice is appreciated! It's hard to avoid what I can't see and must be missing something

I've had the same message as well, though I have also seen the occasional pieces of litter as well. Either your janitors are picking it up before you see it or there's just too many guests hiding it. What I do now is pop bins near vending machines, the gift store, the toilets and in high traffic areas and I've passed the next checks fine.
Another thing you might get pulled up for is lack of decorations in some of the rooms accessed by staff, so it's worth putting some work in those as well.

I spoke too soon, back in my prehistory museum to get 2 stars and I saw one can finally! I was a lot more excited to see trash than I should have lol. Thank you for the tip too, I'll work on those rooms!

I know that you finally found the litter for which you were looking. When I was expanding my prehistoric museum towards the second star rating, it was the litter in the gift shop that eluded me for the longest time until I spotted a janitor cleaning the area right in front of the checkout counter.

That said, even with rubbish bins around the museum, there have been times when I have seen litter on the ground literally within throwing distance. It appears that some guests just cannot be bothered with walking that extra few feet to reach the closest rubbish bin. To bad the security officers cannot escort them out of the museum for littering as they would with thieves or vandals.

Yeah I had 19 bins and they still said not enough and too much litter.. however just now I had a new inspection and it said I had enough and no litter. So something started working lol. Thanks for adding this, cause I didn't think to check the shops when I went back in. I agree with you!
I had an issue at one point where there was litter on the ground of my museum and not one of my 8 janitors would pick it up no matter what I did so I had to just place an exhibit down next to them to delete the litter. I think litter in general might be slightly wonky honestly.
more janitors to compensate for when they are healing or on an exhibition
Note that some exhibits have a trait where it creates a litter explosion. I've seen it on supernatural exhibits, don't know if other types have that trait.
Two pieces of litter in the entire museum shouldn't provoke pop-up spam like catastrophe is imminent, IMHO. OCD or wot?

Hiya, we're pretty sure (99.9% sure) that the in-game tannoy is shouting at you far too much about needing Janitors

We'll be investigating and changing how often or soon this is triggered so you aren't being continuously sassed - sorry for the annoyance on this for now
Had this problem , i made zones and had a janitor or 2 in each zone i made and a couple free roamers. Also had that trash bin that would spit trash back out , stopped using that and it seems to have solved my litter problems.

Thank you! It does whine quite a bit.

I've also gotten the health inspection saying I had plenty of bins but too much litter /facepalm
Dunno why but this just reminded me of Theme Park when all your janitors were in the top right of the screen and wouldnt go anywhere :D

You guys are awesome! Yeah I do get those pop-ups a lot even when I have tons of them. Appreciate you looking into it

Dude, super good to know. I wondered why the F is there a ton of litter all of a sudden when it wasn't an issue before?
I believe there is a glitch that happens with the "Bungle-d Bin" litter-crushing bin that causes the trash to actually just accumulate on the ground around the bin instead of disappearing which causes the trash to get spread across the map randomly whenever the bin is moved. That's what I've noticed in my experience at least. It's a shame as the bin actually does pay pretty well.
