Add a side entrance/exit to a new building

I just got this game yesterday, really enjoying it but now incredibly frustrated. I just bought a new plot and added a second building to expand my museum. When I created this new building I only put in one door, now I've put a Heli pad outside the building but my staff can't access as there is no door on that side of the building. I have tried editing the building but cannot see anywhere to add doors to the building only doors for partition walls. How do I do this?

Click on the building (anywhere - could be the floor inside)
Click the "edit building" button

building is a sort of separate room, as gamerfolder said, click on the floor of the building you want to edit and click the edit button. also be aware that if you create a new building, the game consider them different structures, and will not let you merge them, should you want to. Happened to me on a big plot, put down two separate buildings, tried to merge them later on, and went mad trying to figure out why it was giving me error message. If you plan on future merging, do not create new buildings, just edit the existing one, and place down a separate area

Ohh really - I actually didn't know that - good to know for future games!
