Expeditions for 3 of the 4.
These are the science materials you need to do expeditions to get, all on the bungle Burrows map:

• Metal - POI: Oreful Quarry
  
• Whirlicog - POI: Bungle Burrows
  
• Crystal Moss - POI: Crystal Caves
  
• Golden Truffle - POI: Golden Mine

For Mulch, you need to make a Mulch-o Matic in the workshop, then place it in your museum. Once you have one, you can make mulch by dropping any Plant exhibit onto it. (Edit to add: You lose the plant in the process, in case that wasn't obvious.)
