An easy way to get some pristine exhibits is to just do a bunch of expeditions to Greasy fields, since those only take 7 days.
You need prehistory exhibits to unlock some of the locations anyway.
One of the unique challenges of that museum is that you can't even build a marketing room. Or a camera room for your security staff. The list of rooms available is quite small, and two of them aren't worth building at all. You have the Staff Room, Training Room, Bathroom, Workshop, Cafeteria and Gift Shop as your useful rooms, and can only hire prehistory and botany experts.
When I did that museum, I went with 3 pristine fossils that I got from Greasy Fields. It's easy enough to get them if you do the long mission. Personally, I found this to be the hardest museum to get Gold on. You really need the After Life Academy unlocked and use it to train your staff to have any hope at all.
