Researchers not going to analysis room

It's not blocked off, but now my researchers won't go to research room unless I manually move them to the machine. This wasn't the case at first but now it's stuck this way. I've reloaded to try to fix the issue, no change. I've moved furniture around in a different orientation, no change.

Do you have zones set? I assigned my analysis expert to a zone that did not include the analysis lab and so game kept them walking away to their designated zone and said there was no one to do analysis. Once I changed his work zone to none - he went right to work.

Same happened when I had a marketing assistant who was zoned to lobby and the marketing room was not in any zone - once I added the marketing room to the lobby zone (just by painting it in - not moving the room - the zone can have non-continuous areas) all was fine.

When you put a researcher in the room, do they immediately start researching or do they walk out? Are maybe the task assignments set so they don't have analysis?

They immediately start working. I have them assigned to do research in their tasks and even made a zone that only included the research lab, staff room, and bathroom.

so it isnt the issue i had been having? I would try to get someone to do the research and they would just walk out? My issue was I would try to get a prehistoric expert to analyze botany but they wouldnt because they arnt botany.

Nope, this is an entirely different issue. And it started suddenly. They were researching just fine, then stopped suddenly unless I forced them into it. So now every time I place an exhibit, I have to grab the exhibit, put it on the machine, then grab the worker and place them in the room.
