I had that same thing where a school trip got stuck in the cafe. I just closed the cafe and they all walked out, and then opened the cafe again.
Any advice?
Same, never found anyone!
I don't have proof, but I believe that what is happening is that the "guest stuck in the museum" audio is kicking off almost immediately after a group of guests get bottlenecked and someone can't move, and the bottleneck clears by the time we can even zoom out or pan to look. I just ignore it and only once have I had a guest truly be stuck out of the probably hundreds of times I've heard it by now.
I Think this is the reason as well.
Honestly the game should just remove the stuck guests notice if you ask me, you can't manually unstuck guests anyway.
Besides, guests that actually get stuck should normally just teleport to a safe location automatically.
Just lock one in with staff doors and see for yourself the guest will jump right out and show a special icon that looks like a navigation marker.
The problem that OP has is not actually related to being stuck (pathing), instead its a problem with their decision logic.
I've seen this happen a few times where adults and kids get separated and it breaks their logic, the toilet is also a common place for this to happen.
They only jump to a location if they can move. If they are stuck on an object in a normally accessible guest area, like stuck on a wall decoration or a vending machine, they will stay in that spot while their stats drop to zero, and once that happens they will trudge out of the museum giving a no points review. It's similar to workers getting stuck in a work loop or on objects, where they freeze in place and drop stats until they quit.
Yup, exact same thing here. Kids were at the table, adult was standing with the tray in front of the checkout, blocking everyone. There's no option to pick guests up, so I couldn't move them. Closing the cafe got everyone moving again. So now whenever there's a school trip, I have to watch the cafe to see if they're going to get stuck there.
I sent TwoPoint Studios my savegame to investigate. Hopefully they can spot the bug quickly. Currently, it seems no guest will frequent my cafés at all. Before they had constantly people moving in and out. But now only the employee is standing there waiting on further customers.
Edit: After moving around the café I could force the stuck customers to get thrown out and continue with their business. And people now also seem to visit the cafés again
Edit 2: Only one of the cafés is actually working properly. The one with the previously stuck customers is still not frequented by any customer no matter what I tried so far. The other café though is filled to the rim.
Edit 3: After a further restart of the game the café now again operates as it should
