Backer Key Issues

We’ve received confirmation that any Early Access keys that were erroneously revoked have been restored, if you had a copy of “Dead Matter” in your Steam account then you will not need to take any further action.

If not, in the case where you had a Closed Alpha key that was revoked, you do not need to purchase the game again, you just need to head over to https://qi.games/ if you need instructions on key redemption, you can find them here: on https://github.com/QI-Software/qi-website-public If you need support please reach out via Discord or the Facebook page and we’ll gladly help you out.

We’ll get a few more support channels online in the future to better handle a crisis like this, we certainly didn’t expect this but we’re here to help everyone that is having issues.

It appears that we’ve only accidentally revoked keys that were issued on the new version of our website. Majority of users that redeemed their keys prior to January 9th should be unaffected. This means a few thousand people or so are missing their keys which is a lot better than literally every key being revoked. We’ll keep everyone updated on social media as we continue to resolve this.

Hey Everyone, we've currently got reports of backers having their keys revoked.

This was because of the keys being mislabeled in the website database. Bad news is that we're seeing it too, it appears that the keys that were labelled as Closed Alpha keys in our backend were actually the release keys, and vice versa.

As such we're going to be doing the following to address this:

1. We're going to be pulling https://qi.games/ offline for the time being, anything you do on the site won't have any tangible effect.
2. We're going to be revoking every key QI has ever issued.
3. We're going to refill the key hopper.
4. We'll reboot https://qi.games/ with the key hopper refilled so you can get back to the game.

We didn't want to have to post this, but we'd rather get ahead of this as backers having their keys revoked out of nowhere is a pretty serious issue and we'd rather get ahead of it and solve it as soon as possible.

I was keeping an eye out just in case the game approved and when my key got revoked I got flashbacks from so many other projects I backed and got really mad really fast.

We're not trying to make it look easy, tbh this is kind of where I wish that emailing out steam keys directly was allowed so we could just go ahead and do that but regardless whatever issue pops up we'll go ahead and address it.

You couldn,t be more vague about how you'll make the difference between us backers who lost their login from kickstarter because we were tired of these project never delivering.

No it won't, otherwise the dedicated servers and copies that people bought would break and we want less stuff to be broken, not more. If you lost your login info you'll be able to message us on Facebook for assistance or visit the Discord for assistance.

how this will happen for the 2nd key, I don't even know who I gave it to.

Can't even message on the Discord due to sms verification not being possible atm until I get a phone with SMS service.

Neither can I private message you there to request a replacement key for a game I backed.

Well since I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and revoked the wrong keys, you'll be able to choose who to give your additional key to.
