I may say that the need to farm something would not be considered as diffculty, if so, minecraft is the harcorest game ever made. nuff said
I kinda have to agree with this. Especially since once you can beat a map perfect on highest diff you can just repeat it over and over and over. Since that is too close to working i actually set everything to 300% fairly early on and spare myself the 'grind'.
You still earn achievements, etc if you change the rates. It is there simply for you to level/farm faster if you choose to.
I just..... I just dunno what to say in terms of how to improve it further- Obviously, graphics needs a big Boost, and some pets would be nice- but, rly, the story in a Tower defense game with out- of-battle Upgrades and various options to customise it- what else would ppl wish for?
As for the 300% settings making the game easier ... Of course, but, as Bhake said you could just replay the earlier level over and over for the same result if the option weren't thre ... That's one of the isue I have with this game : early level become a walk in the park even at extreme difficulty once you have levelled ...
Also, if you want a challeng you can forbid yourself from playing each level more than twice (one time on Normal and one time on Extreme ...) Or even only once at the max ifficlty you can achievve !
And you can even LOWER the scrap XP gain ...

I mean, I always try to replay levels before going on to the Final ones, If I can- even with XMen Wolverine origins, I replayed levels , found as much collectibles Tags as I could- then moved on- same here, I try to basically play on hardest (extreme) levels Through previous battles before moving on.
No they do not. This is the art-style and it's there for a reason. If you want modern graphics in a Tower Defense then you should play Sanctum or Defense Grid. I know many people, myself included, got attracted to this game because of it's pixelated art style. Advanced graphics isn't the same as better graphics, and better graphics doesn't equal a better game.
Since a pretty hard achievement recommends doing something to make the game a bit easier, I fail to see how doing that something is considered a poor choice.
I personally am working on the no-generic-recruits achievements. I found even mid-to-late first playthrough got a bit grindy as I had to replay previous levels to be able level up the characters until I increased the XP gain (especially after some characters leave your party near the very end). (I'm playing this somewhat casually so I'm sure others don't feel the need to bump the gain until later in the second playthrough.)
Think of it from marketing point of view- if you look at the game' s screenshots and videos, would you rather see 3D world or 2D world? Whatever is more appealing- now, Im just one of those ppl who reads game' s description and judges by that, so I chose this game due to seeing good reviews and td mentioned in it- just caught my attention. (along with customization and story as key features)
Im not saying artstyle should necessarilly change- the graphics however, can do with an extra dimension.
I just hte seeing good ol' JRPG getting crappy 3D when 2D was all it need. Sure ,now it begin to feel a bit more angular and ugly. But 2D was nice to look at right from teh start ... And get better when res get higher without needing a big comp. The only problm I can see with 2D is :
- It need good artist. You can't just get out with crazy effect and smooth curve line ...
- It needs time for animation, much more than 3D.
