On the other side you play with randoms. Since they eliminated the need for socialization to have a group for group activities in online games, people started to care less and less.
It makes all the sense in the world just to use chat and let people know what are you up to. Or to leave immediately, if you want to sit in the armory for next 10 mins. Unless it's a console players, They did not unlock the technology of game chat yet.
Cant expect every random to respect other's people time though, so better to take the matter in own hands and just leave the party as soon as op ends to start a new one. I usually give pepole 1-2 mins before leaving. More than enough time for occasinal housekeeping.
My workaround for wasting time is instantly leaving after I successfully complete a mission with strangers.
It's weird, but it's much more time-saving than going through the crap you just mentioned. (Happened to me as well.)
Another thing is that when I join a party and the leader is AFK, or there's a warning about conflicting classes, I leave as well.
Same reason → it's most likely going to result in a kick or game termination. WH40K players are weirdos, to be honest.
And so, I think, others do the same—do a mission, leave, rinse, repeat.
I blame the game design for this unfortunate development.
- Why are there so many loading screens when joining another lobby? It's almost like the game reloads all the assets it already had.
- Why can't the game start loading the level during the intro and outro cutscenes?
- Why are the Armory, Launch Bay, and Data Vault so far apart (even with teleport)? They should all be in one place.
- Why are there so many connection issues?
- Why can't I create a private game and set it to public afterward to allow strangers to join?
- Why does the game throw you into lobbies where your chosen class is already taken?
This is especially weird given that leveling up is a pain in the ass, and people tend to have one or two main classes, absolutely.
Nobody knows. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Stayed for a couple of extensive sessions with people who use chat. But considering the weird bug it gets after three or so games, it's just ends up with us adding each other on steam and continuing to talk there.
So can't really relate to this issue
I don't have much time to play nowaday, could be nice to group with people that want the same
For the Emperor
Honestly with the current abysmal state of the servers I am urtterly amazed you were able to complete more than 1 mission with the same team. 99% of the time it dumps me back to BB alone. When we do retain team....we get disconnects and poof all progress lost. Honestly since the last patch this game is in a very bad state. It needs someone brought in to this team to review the net code and help them optimize as they are clearly unable to. If this is how post launch is treated, I do not think they will be enjoying similar success with SM III as it is simply not acceptable.
Long story short, be thankful you were even able to play with the same team members for multiple matches.
It is funny indeed, because that night was flawless. Like a charm. Yesterday however I only had lag, disconnects, etc. I think it depends if all 3 have a stable connection, too. You could have a guy whose real ping is spiking and throwing everything off balance. Not sure if this is how it works in SM2, but could potentially.
I disagree a bit here. On absolute, finding folks who are worth their salt in combat, are worth to wait for. Absolute currently is the best fun imho, and finding a party worth sticking around is always something I look for. You develop a bit of a bond over a few matches, too. It's great.
Trying to suggest to be unsociable to combat other unsociable people is not really helpful. In the end, you know, it's just some fruit for thought for folks to mind their team mates who are waiting on them, is all.
But I will always prefer to play with a group that clicks, than jump games. I also do that when I play on lower difficulties, to help dudes to level up. They are usually quite thrilled by it. So the overall experience I have, is worth the hassle imo. But that does not mean any less that this kind of behavior is just very selfish. Why should I change, to accommodate those who did not learn to be, you know, basic decent and mindful of others. I sure as hell won't.
That said, you are of course right in principle, and there are nights, where I will leave a team quickly, especially when I hop difficulties a lot.
This is a flaw in the game, I have to admit I am guilty of that, too. Last week or so, I was minding my own business, I had not even had a mission selected, doing customization. I usually go themed, so for a while I will equip all classes as Templar, then Dark Angels, now Ravenguard, and take my time to get them all nice and shiny.
I leave the armory, and sure enough, there is a poor dude waiting at the launch area. Luckily he did not join long ago, but the game gives you zero notification that someone joined when you are in the armory. Zilch. Especially weird if you have no mission selected, too.
I feel you brother. Already the ability to decide between "create squad" and "join squad" would solve a lot of issues. Even a delay after selecting the mission, like 15 seconds would help. Step into the launch zone -> creates squad. Stand outside of it -> join squad.
But sure enough, you select the mission and poppedypop it send you on your merry way as if you selected quick match, minus random map. And sometimes it will throw you into the same group (that has your class taken), several times in a row, at that point you can only switch the mission to escape it.
It is annoying as hell, that the game tries to join you into a game, as soon as you exit the selection screen.
Pixie Chan bring Emperor True Squad opinion against Heresy Agenda like yours
all of your post are fake - like what is that ? -you playin freakin all mission with one squad ? i never have that expirience in 400 hours of game . one mission with all loadings askin about 30 min who de hell gonna exiting playin in a row with one squad formation ?
i playin usuall 3 mission with different Marines takin Heavy for two mission and maybe Tactics for 3rd - and this takin more than 1 hour usually
and your fake post uplift your opinion like somethin trully and special but GAME SHOWIN you true in your face - nobody don't wanna play more than one mission with one squad - so maybe you will axept that instead posting your fake experience like somethin meaningful and not standing ever in waiting area when somebody "AFK go to armory"
LOL
i for instance have a habit of just standing around in the battle barge doing nothing for like 4 hours because im doing other things on my pc, which was always perfectly fine before 6.0, but now if im lobby host and dont do the ♥♥♥♥ move of forcing a loading screen on everyone else and just let them leave of their own free will people can just appear randomly while im just staring at tech priest #593 in game
in fact day one of 6.0 thats exactly what happened, i finished obelisk on absolute while being host, let the other two guys leave, then went to watch a livestream on youtube for a bit and some guy randomly appeared like 35 minutes later despite me being alone and not having selected a mission (luckily i noticed and we just did a quick one on ballistic engine)
the only way to not have this happen if youre lobby host is to leave and force a loading screen on the other two :/
