You found out that the hypetrain around Space Marine 2 is slowely fading out. Who would´ve thought that the game will most possibly go the same way like all the other hyped games.

Look at Helldivers2 which is now around 15-20k and this game has been hyped like no other for a long time before.

I assume that SM2 will level off at 10k players in the medium term and 5k players on average in the long term.

yes. all games lose player count once people finish campaign. its only devs, publishers and shareholders believe all players are only interested in pvp really.

Such a bs. I did bunch of operations and pvp today - instant team. Yeah the player base is dropping because at it's heart this is a single player campaign with operations and pvp added for extra content - people finish campaign and quit the game - that's how single player works.
Personally i think the game is great, i've enjoyed everything immensely - even pvp which i didn't expect, but the slower paced pvp suits me just fine. The only thing i think anyone can complain about is maybe the amount of content, but personally i would go with quality over quantity.
