Why does nobody talk in Ops or PVP?
Seriously, communication is one of the fun elements of a game like SM2.
Is socializing really so deviant for most people?
I mean talking works on communicating strategies and keeping your battle brothers alive and fighting.

Seems to work just fine without it.

I mean what's there to coordinate? There's a few techs like the Bulwark banner heal, but the game's designed for 3 people who've never met and will do nothing but emote and ping to clear the hardest content.

There's plenty of options to indicate your next move to your team. No need to hear countless prepubescent voices in the game. You can always use discord with your brothers.

I'm tired. If someone wants to initiate a conversation thats fine and I will take part, but dammit I'm just relaxing I work a customer facing job every day I don't feel like initiating once again with someone I don't know.

Honestly, yes. I hate socializing. I've always been a gaming misanthrope. If I don't know you I don't want to hear your voice.

It's also a crossplay game so it's even worse. If you leave VOIP on you get to hear some console guy with his open mic, heavy breathing, and his kid and wife screaming in the background and his local news station and/or football game.

It's also just not a terribly complicated game. Just marking things and doing call outs is enough.

I've had 5 people on open comms in the last 2 days, they were either mouth-breathing with a box fan planted right next to mic or had a poorly running, poorly maintained truck engine running right next to it.

There are people who like to use voice coms, but you will have to make a special effort to find them.

I talk with friends. You're a meatbag with marginally higher intelligence than the braindead AI, and I got about 270 more ops to run to unlock all 5 of the other classes armor varieties. If each of those missions takes around 20 minutes to complete then that's NINETY hours until I get them all because the devs are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sadists. There's no time to chit-chat.

We're here to complete a mission, not for you to gush about your armor just for me to tell you that it's not codex compliant to use the veteran symbol and NOT paint your trim (and possibly helmet) accordingly to the 1st company that you WOULD be a part of or to have your chapter's insignia swapped out for something else on your left pauldron because of heretical vanity.

This is just how internet culture is now. As options for group chats became more accessible, people stopped using game chat to socialize.
