Crashing on start up
I have launched the game and played through several missions. During loading screens the game will usually crash and need to be restarted, but I could continue playing. However now the game consistently crashes on launch and is not even playable.
I launch the game and it crashes shortly after displaying the seizure warning.
I have tired:
1) Restarting the game
2) Restarting my PC
3) uninstalling and reinstalling the game
4) turning off any and all overlay apps on my computer
5) Validating game files
6) Adding Space Marine 2 to anti-virus exceptions
7) running as an administrator
8) running from the installation folder
9) deleting Easy Anti Cheat for it to be reinstalled at launch
10) updating drivers
11) Reseting my BIOS
12) Run the game from a different ssd.
My system running on windows 10 with -rtx 3080
-96Gb RAM
-14900ks (with microcode update)
-2TB and 4TB ssd’s
-3840x2160 4K monitor
I have no issues running any other games except this one. Any help would be appreciated

Make sure the game is saved on a ssd.

Ram was on sale lol
disabled/enabled boosting doesn't seem to make a difference unfortunately

It's hard because 14900ks I believe is one of the faulty intel chips. It could be just damaged beyond saving. Are you able to get your hands on another chip that fits your computer to try?

yea it's the faulty intel chip that's the problem... /s

You realize that this is one of the only games that has this massive crashing issues with CPU overheat temps and complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ optimization? Out of all the games that OP plays, this is the only one that is crashing his computer... so it's definitely his CPU/rig/hardware and not the Russian devs who put malware in the game (don't believe me? run malwarebytes and you will get warnings about infected files in the game's files when you launch or close the game).

It's 100% on the incompetent devs who are sadistic and want to fry people's machines, not OP's machine which runs every other game flawlessly and without issue...

My mind is kind of spinning up thinking of things that it could be. I would hope it isn't an issue with Windows 10. That would dumb, but I think we'd have maybe seen a bigger trend of that? Next I'm wondering if there is some Nvidia global preset maybe that you have that the game doesn't natively support and is crashing as a result.

If you look at Windows Event Viewer >Windows Logs > Applications, do you see any errors for the Space Marine 2 application at the time you tried to run it? It may not give any specific details, but it might.

You are correct, the 14900x and 13900x intel chips are the ones to be careful of, mostly with UE5 games. The issue with these chips seems to be voltage spikes which typically cause a bluescreen os crash, which i have experienced, but has since been resolved with Intels micro code update. For example: Black Myth Wukong would crash my os immediately on start up but after installing the micro code update I've have no issues since. I'm not completely ruling out the cpu but I have had no issues running any other apps post update.
Try to switch your GPU (friend's) and see what it does. You have 14900ks + 96ram + ssd 2-4 TB.....and 3080 for 4K on max settings I think. "Sound's suppa weirdo boyzzz"

It crashes on both windows 10 and 11. My os was windows 11 but after experiencing crashes I went back to 10.
Nothing comes up with event viewer unfortunately. The most info I get out of it is Easy Anti-Cheat activating/deactivating without errors when I attempt to boot the game.

I wonder if the anti-cheat is catching something and just closing down instead of launching the game. Do you have any mods for other games that run in the background?

Not telling you your chip is faulty. Its basic fault finding. Rule out parts so you know they aren't the problem. Load screens are CPU intensive. You have a known faulty chip, logical place to start. If you don't want to try it that's fine, but that's where i'd start.

The issue with the chips is oxidation, heat accelerates the reaction which is why they released the microcode to try and reduce the heat. If your chip already has oxidation there is no amount of microcode that will save it. Its a manufacturing defect that was missed.

Or you can put it down to Russians just wanting to ♥♥♥♥ with you.

I agree, the only thing that makes me hesitate to go after that first is the lack of issues with other cpu intensive tasks. I'll dig into it a little further though.

My tinfoil hat is a little rusty but those darn Russians will never take my western gaming experience away from me! 🥴
before pc hp have 8 years games walk not ecrant black nothing other family member contruit all new pc gaming i windows 11 malgrer its games launches still not I made claim refund of the game.
