Trying to decide to buy or not. Are you able to play through the campaign with non-Primaris armor?

specifically I mean are there any options to change the skins across the board for the player character and npc's, for example an option you get for beating the game (like an unlock) or has anyone heard of mods in the works for it?

the only non primaris armor is for the chaos marines and a special set for buying one of the premium editions, however neither are available for pve modes as far as i have played, and the chaos armor is for now locked to pvp.

Can't customize armor at all in the campaign. Would not recommend if you are expecting to play solo.

fair enough, I mean I never buy over 20 so I was thinking grey market. But yeah I guess I'll wait about that time and see if anyone makes like a Nexus mod for earlier armor marks

GW are pushing hard on the redesign so you won't really be getting any first born armor in anything anymore outside a very few exceptions, so you'll either have to get used to it(as much as i hate it too) or just not buy anything 40k ever again.

Sure, I get that. That's why I'm asking if anyone has heard about mods in the works.
Generally modders aren't popular in the same way that other people who create things are so you have to find out about stuff like this through the grapevine.

there's probably mods, but due to the aggressive anti cheat you'll be locking yourself out of the online which is like 3/4 of the game so don't even bother with mods for it. personally i hate EAC as it doesn't really do anything but ♥♥♥♥ over good players, it doesn't really stop cheating, it only impacts performance
