When a single hive fleet is cleaning every planet in its path, its getting a lot of biomass and other resources to play with.
Don't you dare to compare them with real world powers invading oil rich countries.
Tyranids are very efficient and resourceful, in harnessing biomass to the last drop, even after causing all the climate changes on planets
They need to eat STARS for that, not planets.
Kinda hard eating a star. That ♥♥♥♥ burns your mouth.
Laughs in C'tan
When taking into account that they're actually kinda hot ngl, I cannot help but think that they were created to grow The Hive through more... Unorthodox means.
:D
They store biomass and spawn what's needed, where its needed.
They recycle all the biomass, including the one from their own units.
Nothing goes to waste.
So? Isn't the Tyranid are basicaly just one big organism? I always thought about them like a big slime that just stretches and swallows everything. Thats what the "tendrils" are no?
So as long as this big thing grows and consumes it doesnt care. And we dont know what its really capable of so once it runs out of food it can maybe just evolve into not needing any food anymore.
Not a biologist but seems kind of a stretch to evolve from "needing biomass on a massive scale" to "lol not hungry anymore".
