I cant be the only one thoroughly annoyed by the horrendous hipfire accuracy.
Any Astartes, beyond the most recent of initiates, hailing from low tech worlds where firearms were uncommon and are still getting used to the wargear, are supposed to be crack shots by the standards of mere mortals.

Recoil, with just bare space marine muscle is supposed to be a non issue, let alone when encased in power armour with the added strength, weight and built in compensation.

Titus has over 200 years of experience in service as an Astartes, why cant he hit what he is aiming at without bringing the gun up to eye level?

I dont have experience with actual firearm but using air rifles, likely comparable to an Astartes using a bolter, im easily able to hit a man sized target at 30 paces without bringing it up to eye level.

Sure i could get behind a growing spread at full auto, even if it shouldnt be much of a thing lorewise, for the sake of gameplay mechanics but...

We are supposed to be Space Marines, not Storm Troopers.

space marines dont need to bring up thair weapon to eye level in order to aim, thair helmet is supposed to have a targeting/aiming interface that is connected to thair ranged weapon, at least as far as i know.

i think the way it is in game is for balance reasons probably.

You know wrong.
The right eye has a range finder and a target recognition system (friend or enemy).

Thats it

Gameplay in games does not always equal lore.

But i agree, this game mechanic is annoying rather than fun. Unfortunately i dont see it to be changed.

There are perk that reduce spread on hipfire

your talking about a a lore accurate thing but in a game world, that accurate thing is completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and unbalanced no matter how you look at it. having this in would take alot of the fun away from the game so that's why it is how it is

Yeah i agree, the training the expierence, the power armor and the optic sensors should make hipfire totally accuracy and bolter should kill a nid elite with around 3 hits instead of sometimes 45+ xD

But the latter would break the complete combat system i guess. The only way to counter that, would be to spawn 5 times more elites and that would break performance.

(Make it at least so that you do not need more then a half magazine bolt rounds)

But yeah, they could make the hipfire far more accuracy, that at least could be done ;-)

(Also for heavy bolter, its already hard enough without meele weapon)

Im still playing the campaign but from what ive seen the Heavy Bolter actually has reasonable spread, at least for bursts, even outside of the heavy stance, in campaign mode.

With the amount of punishments enemies can take, being able to more effectively thin them down by actually managing to hit some before they reach melee range doesnt seem out of this world.

There are far too many to clear all of them, even with more accurate hipfire.

As for the fun question, im one that actually has fun boltering stuff to death, like Space Marines do ya know?

It wouldnt take away from people wanting to get in close, just allow for another style of gameplay.

That is why im annoyed by the low accuracy.
