Controller issues { FIX }

*Note: This worked for me. what the issue is that steam takes the controllers and "converts" it to a steam controller and that is whats causing the issue. when you disable it it will prevent the game to register as that. all your other games will be fine since you're only disabling for this game specifically.

"I mentioned my controller not working for this game in the "What game are you currently playing?" thread. Found the fix but it is weird. I am using an Xbox controller on my PC. In order to get it to work had to do the following:

1. Access the game in Steam library, right click, and select Properties.
2. Go to the Controller tab on the left.
3. And next to where it says "Override for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2" select "Disable Steam Input" from the dropdown.
4. Restart the game, and the controller worked as expected.

As you can see, that now says that my Xbox Controller is disabled, but it isn't it works fine. So my guess is that this setting remaps the Xbox Controller as a Steam Controller? Not sure. Anyhoo... there you go."

I have no issue getting my Xbox Elite controller to work my issue is that it stops working occasionally after Ops. I have to restart the game to get it working again.

Try it and see if it doesn't fix it. If it doesn't then my suggestion is to start another thread and maybe someone might have some knowledge to fix that issue.

Got my 3rd party controller to work but now the A,B and X,Y are swapped.
A to continue involves me pressing B which is on the right side of the diamond.

This is literally the ONLY game with this issue.

if you have a 3rd party. try turning on the generic controller if you haven't already. let me see what I can find but try googling too see. i'll come back if i find anything

I have tried turning off and on steam input for controller. I have tried Turning off and on Steam overlay. I have tried big-picture mode. I have tried disconnecting the keyboard and mouse. I am using a steam controller and nothing works. This is the only game I am having this issue with. I am at the end of my rope here, can anyone please help me?

Update: I found a workaround that works. Use an Xbox controller to get the game to switch from K&M controls to controller controls. Then simply switch back to the steam controller and it works fine. Not ideal in the slightest but it's the only workaround I have found so far.

So you're saying plug in the xbox controller then unplug and plug in your steam controller? that is really strange.
