Any tips for Bulwark? Thanks
I started levelling Bulwark for fun (I am not worried about meta) and I have read that Bulwark has multiple ways to get big heals.
I am finding it hard to survive in melee combat in difficulty 3 and specially 4. Can someone more experienced with Bulwark and melee combat give me some advice?
Thanks

Keep your shield up. For the love of the Emperor, keep your shield up.

Keep an eye out for your ranged party members, don't lose track of them. They may get isolated from time to time and need your help.

Plant the banner the moment you sniff trouble.

Biggest tip is to use your ability right before your about to execute something for a full heal.

Yeah, use the chain sword over the power sword as you get a feel for the class. Chain sword is probably the best melee weapon he has.

Power sword you basically have to get comfortable with using the master crafted power sword until you are able to get a relic power sword, reason being is the artificer power swords SUCK.

But teh chain swords are great. The thing that makes the bulwark good is going to be as yo you level up your weapons and banner until then its kinda a slog.

More or less all the things that maker the bulwark good are loaded up on the back end of the class.

My biggest tip: Have a Heavy/Vanguard/Tactical with a Melta weapon and you'll soar through Ruthless fine. I've maxed out my Bulwark. It's sad but true. Ranged is superior to melee in every aspect. I recommend playing Bulwark with those combos, essentially they will be carrying you. Melee needs a dmg increase and the melee atks / shield bash should stagger harder. We are Space Marines?

Everyone finds it hard to survive melee combat on difficulty 4!

Build fencing, and focus on parry related perks. Parry anything and everything you can, regardless of melee weapon you'll end up using you'll be useful. If you're low hp place your banner before you execute something and youll get your hp back. You also full heal at any drop pods on the map. So unless you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and got hyper punished you shouldnt need any med stims. Focus ranged when you can and force parries out of them.

Honestly, this is kinda bad advice right now.
Not because you are wrong but because the game is jank right now for bulwark, its REALLY hard to parry as bulwark because 90% of the time you end up blocking.

THIS, literally... in most situations other classes are stronger in melee than bulwark, only because of that and that blocking doesn't work for ♥♥♥♥ in melee. Only way to make sure you are gonna parry is by quickly pushing block/parry button twice to parry instead of blocking, but that's longer and often it's end up too late.

You two are delusional or something lmao... fencing/parrying is literally the easiest thing to do as a bulwark.

As a heavy main please protect your slow & sluggish firepower teammates! Also I play Bulwark as 2nd and it's really tough to play due to lack of mobility and importance of his role. Do not give up - most important thing. Your team needs you! :D

not really, as a bulwark it's all about the perfect parry and blocking ranged attacks.

you can easily survive swarms by perfect parry killing one and damaging everything around you. on little ones using the power sword in power stance to knock them down with a single swing getting gunstrikes to maintain armor.

use the shield to block ranged and deal damage to enemies close to you.
use the shield to stun enemies.

perfect parry enemies and get an instant execute on majoris.

just don't let them get behind you and you basically can live forever while killing by playing defense lol.

throw down the banner give the squad 100% contested hp and let them heal up too.

Stick near your Brothers who can fight at range. Alot of the other Advice here's honestly a lot better than anything else I can think of

This is about right haha.
Pray you get a team with a bunch of melta and all you do is follow them and try to distract enemies here and there.

Outside that, simply accept you are in to play like a Bailarina. Keep dodging and dodging and dodging and try to slowly to surely get a hit in here and there while you try to not be swarmed.
