It really is. Tsons were very cool in this game.
Fighting nids feels quite badass.
Chaos is well... boring and clearly unpolished by comparison.
I honestly believe the art department gave their A-Game on the thousand sons too, but for real, their gameplay is somewhat lackluster.
Once you figure out to use plasma on the rubric marines, it's all trivialized into a borefest.
The Emperor requires only the most indomitable and righteous fire to stand against the powers of chaos.
Honestly it just feels like Tyranids were a much better thought out enemy to fight, their majoris buff the minoris but can also weaken or straight up kill them when they themselves are killed, it can lead to different tactics to who to target in a horde, but Chaos there is no real tactics during a horde, its just kill whoever is shooting at you while you murder the rest of the horde.
To conclude my yapping, bugs fun, pixie marines not.
Well to be fair, they were tricked by Tzeentch and locked in their armour, their bodies turned to dust, so all that's in the armour really is just a soul. So when you tear the helmet off, you're freeing the soul and the dust is just their bones etc.
As for the actual gameplay. I'm not a fan of going up against Chaos, they're boring, the minoris die easily, even the Tzaangors if you have the correct weapon... the grenade launcher. The majoris are annoying more than anything, shoot from afar or spam attacks you can't parry which a lot of perks rely on. The two terminators aren't exactly special, one spams missiles, the other melee. The missile one you can take out easy with a plasma incinerator or grenade launcher, the melee you can just parry him and gun strike, it's not difficult to do. The sorcerer dies too quickly which leaves the hellbrute as the only fun and unique enemy to fight.
Tyranids on the other hand have way more interesting enemies. Raveners that burrow, Lictor that cloaks, two mini bosses in the Carnifex and Neurothrope, Hive Tyrant boss, Zoanthropes, at least fighting the nids is fun, chaos is just a chore.
