"Current Class Not Available"/"Class conflict" - what idiot designed that?
Seriously, half of match making frustration is to wait for game to load Resources/Logic etc. only for you to see that class you chose is not available. So I have to choose different class and then quit the match, wasting both my time and time of party that was waiting for player. Or when I load to someone lobby and I see that my class is already picked so I have to quit again and start matchmaking again.

Seriously - every other game I know either look only for matches where your class is not available (DRG) or lets you see what classes are available in lobby before commiting (Vermintide 2).

Why the hell I need to waste 3-4 loadings just to see my class is not available.

It might have been less of an issue if everyone had everything on lvl 25 but I have only one lvl 25 class so I can't even If I wanted play a different one on Ruthless when I am looking for match.

This is such a basic thing - how NO DEVELOPER thought about it in all years of development of multiplayer aspect of this game?

Nobody that has thoroughly enjoyed a competitive shooter worked on this game.

At same time TF2: want 8 heavies? Can do

For the PvP, each team is limited to only 2 of each class, so if 2 people are running Tactical or Vangaurd, then no-one else can pick those classes.

I have absolutely NO idea why the devs decided to do this. It makes no sense, and does nothing but obstruct players with slightly higher ping.

For Operations, only certain classes are allowed in certain Ops. I'd assume this is because of the Campaign linking setting each Op has

Forcing your player-base to fight over scraps in any capacity in a game is how you weed out the good and nice people, don't you realize that they obviously want the most toxic and lore accurate players in their space marine game? (Sarcasm)

It is and it isnt, can you imagine lobbies of like 2-3 Heavies or Tacticals? Would completely disregard any semblance of difficulty.

I guess 3 Assault marines would be suicidal, or conversely they think 3 Tacticals with 200% Auspex DMG would trivialise the game...either way I agree the restrictions are dumb

I'm not a big fan of restricting what the players can play.

I am not talking about that. I understand class restriction but game should not matchmake me into lobbies where my class is already taken becasue it doesn't make sense. I have to quit every time as I literally have only 1 class leveled to 25 right now and ready for Ruthless. So my only option is to sit through loading only to see my class it taken, quit, matchmake again.

Yes, that is indeed the downside.
Husker_85 Sep 13, 2024 @ 2:51pm
devil's advocate: play two classes. Sometimes I join a match and my Heavy is taken, so I end up switch to Vanguard. Either way I'm charging into hordes and using a melta

You haven't played on diff 3 or 4 enough if you think 3 heavies would do everything, the hordes get offensive and need someone to keep the heavies safe.

said disregard already happens with a heavy, a tactical, and a bulwark lmao

Its because they committed too hard to making sure your characters aren't yours. They are all fully fleshed out NPCS you get to play as. Straban can't have dialogue with himself. And then who would remind you that youre "ultra marines" dressed as a blood angel, a black templar, and an iron hand. They gave you too much immersion you didn't want to tie this ♥♥♥♥ to the main story. Not enough immersion that you did want by letting you make your own space marine for co-op, pvp and eventual horde mode. Also have fun fighting over every special very individual champion as they release them.

Dark tide did this a ton better. This is a step back towards vermin tide.
