If you can spam rolls like you're playing a naked character in Elden Ring you should be able to ACTUALLY sprint instead of just power jogging at your enemies.

SMs are supposed to be fast, REALLY FAST.
Just a bug hit you and you lose a little bit of armor, but you only have three armor points, and the enemy has almost endless bugs...

A common theme in many Novels, where Astartes are present is, that nothing that big and heavy should move that fast as they do.
Unaugmented humans are unable to follow their movement speed most of the time and if the Astartes is going at full speed, all they can see is just a blur of movements at best.
Including what you said, when these Astarts are hit by elite enemy units in melee or long range, you have to wait a while before you can do anything else.
Personally, it doesn't match Astarte's reflexes
