There is 0 reason to use block weapons just go fencing. Fencing makes you unkillable in melee.

I mean I can largely agree with that. Like I said, the thunder hammer on assault is the only place using a block weapon (due to the damage in said case), and yeah I have to admit, when I am getting the parries and counters I am basically in one of those states where I am all but predicting the next attack a second in advance.

Its a type of battle frenzy I can't explain, that often seems to trigger when I am low on health and don't have any stims.

Just use one and see for yourself. The first 3 comments obviously haven't used a Block weapon and only listen to what clickbaity YouTubers tell them.

If your timing is ridiculous you can. And by that I mean you mistimed parrying something ELSE and accidentally got the other thing attacking you. But hey, still counts.

the only parry that block weapons can do is the minoris pouncing attacks with the blue flash, aside from that they can parry nothing, not even the regular minoris attacks

this is because block weapons are for perfect dodges and have rewards for being able to do said dodges consistently that are either very high damage or very high swing speed, sometimes both

this is a block not a parry, if it doesnt disrupt the enemy's combo all you did was block, if you dont get a gunstrike all you did was block

if you dont get the animation where you swing your weapon out to the side after the block animation you did not parry

block weapons can only parry minoris pounce attacks with the blue flash

Considering it works the same way as every other time you parry something I don't think it can be called a bug. The timing is abominable though, so if you're using a Block weapon you're better off just getting out of the way than trying it most of the time.

Also it's not ping, since I tend to be able to do it more reliably when offline.

then maybe they just failed to fully adjust the timing to 0, its intended to have no ability to parry

my original assumption was ping made some potential 2 frames of parry time or something longer due to server connection shenanigans but maybe its just saber being "nah itll be fine" and then it wasnt fine

There is 0 reason to use block weapons just go fencing. Fencing makes you unkillable in melee. And you can parry small enemies aswell and generate shields constantly. Just use fencing.

What the ♥♥♥♥ is fencing? And can it be done in plaver versus player mode?

fencing is a defense stat that makes the perfect parry window basically the entire parry window, as for usage in pvp idk i wouldnt touch that ♥♥♥♥ with a 10 foot pole since this game uses EAC

Oh you mean fencing is a perk?

no its a weapon stat at the bottom of the list of your melee weapon's stats in the armory, itll say "defence" and then either "balanced", "block", or "fencing"

No, sort of but not really, or you could phrase or see it that way but most wouldn't. All melee weapons are one of 3 types, or you could say every melee weapon has 1 of 3 perks, but again most would not phrase or see it that way.

All melee weapons are either A/Balanced, B/Fencing, or C/Block.

I have used them and you're wrong. The game literally tells you what it does when you hover your mouse over it.

Honestly wouldn't surprise me. I think their definition of "you can't parry" is "the timing is so tight you may as well not be able to parry" as opposed to a hard rule like actually turning something off.
