That may be true but I think many have problems with female Custodes because how careless and without much thought GW threw them into existing Lore much like the Primaris.
No slow build up or hints in any Book or other Sourcematerial and then they got suddenly snapped into existense. The sudden introduction of the Primaris was equally disliked for the same reasons.
Though at the same time, people may be new to Warhammer and have only gotten their information from sources that like to not exactly present their stance in a faithful way. And thus be unaware of the type of retcons Warhammer frequently sees.
Also true.
But as I said before, I vastly prefer a "something is coming" approach in terms of Lore and storytelling over several books instead of a "Here I am! Deal with it!" situation.
Just personal preference.
N' that's fair enough. I guess I just find it confusing to make one specific instance a big deal when it's but one in a countless sea. I understand lamenting it as "oh great, another retcon" a bit though. Which has become a lot more valid since GWs kinda settled into the lore and doesn't shake it up as much.
The irony is so palpable I practically choked on it.
Mr. "I'm neutral and have no agenda, but have also dedicated my entire life to defending corporate wokism across multiple games using bad faith arguments".
The purpose of a retcon is supposed to be the spring cleaning of old bad ideas, there was nothing bad about the status quo of all the best soldiers being men, it's both realistic and caters to the existing market, which is over 90% men. It's one thing when GW is trying to improve their story and fails, like with Primaris, another thing entirely when they shoehorn something in just to be woke and it fails. Intention matters.

Can't forget the Imperial Guardswomen, and some Custodes.
