Assault the best PvE class.
Initialy i want to post this on Focus Together but it keeps sending an error, so i post it here.

I read a lot about how bad assault is, and in this post i want to explsplain why, in my opinion, he is the strongest class (at least vs tyranids). And sorry for bad English.

I got 190h in the game for now, mostly in PVE, level all classes to 25 (even get all achivemenst, yay!), so i can say that i have some understanding of the game. Actualy assault was my last class to level up because i read a lot about how bad he is. But today i restore justice and for every bad take that i heard or read ill give you 2 good, so assault get all love he deserves.

Invincible killing machine:
Every single gunstrike in this game gives you 1 armor, exept for non-lethal ones, and guess what, assault is the only class in the game who gets armor for this type of gunstrike (if you choose a perk ofcourse). Wich means he gets 1 armor for EVERY gunstrike he makes. His sustain in every type of scenario is absurd, exept when he get shot by multiple enemies (wich weakness that every class have in some degree). His efficensy vs melee bosses is insane. You can eat attacks and get your armor back with gunstrikes after a perfect dodges. And yes assault get 50% more perfect dodge timing via his starting perk. And after patch, we can parry minoris to get 1 armor aswell.

Jumpack the best ability in the game:
Jumpack is very strong, to the point i sometimes think it kinda imbalanced (lol). Not only it give you gamage, AOE or sigle target (with all damage perks, its still has some AOE but very small) , wich by the way almost one shot warriors, it gives you utility, so if you get into the corner surrounded by hordes of enemies, you can just press one button, reposition yourself and you good to go (Basicly what sniper class ability do). Get annoing warrior with sniper rifle? No problem just jump right into his face and problem is gone.
I know some people wants it to be like in campain, so you can spend more time in the air than on the ground, but lets be honest here, the game is already easy enough and if we got class that basicly immune to melee combatants and can fly around it would be no fun at all. Concluding jumpack section: If you feel that jumpack needs more charges or quicker cooldown it is not because it bad, it because it have so much to do in every situation that it FEELS that you need more. Beacause jumpack is THAT good.

Heavy bolt pistol and hammer is enough for missing main weapon slot:
I belive that not having some weapon slot is big deal and any class that misses some slot better have somethink in return. Like heavy gets all big guns instead of melee, is it worth it? I'd say - yes. But what assault get for his missing slot? THE best pistol in the game and THE best melee weapon in the game. Pistol is very good, i dont have much to say about it, its just good. Hammer can do everything: basic swings is 360 degree AOE WITH infinite combo, strongest heavy attack (light-heavy combo does giant AOE explotion, for comparison similar heavy chainsword attack is light-light-light-heavy, wich takes a lot more time), strongest charged attack in the game, wich you dont even need to charge for it to be good.

Best team perk:
Assault's perk wich gives more gunstrike damage is SO good, that even if he stays afk all misssion long i would not be complaining. Not only it is the only ability in the game that boosts one of the best ways to deal damage to elites, but it is TEAM perk. Game have many good team perks but in my expiriens best perks is utility and sustain, for example: bulvark's slower contested health fading, vanguard's restoration ability charge on finishers, heavy's reviving at full health. But assault's team perk is OFFENSIVE wich does not require you to lose hp or use abilities, just parry, dodge and gunstrike.

In conclusion: assault is very effective and, most important, fun to play. I belive he has no need for buffs or changes, he is good.

Every single class is very effective if you know how to play, even more so if they're 25 and you have relic weapons.

I also have all classes at level 25, all achievemnts, more than 210 hours in game, more than 90% in PvE.
Assault is ok and super fun, but definitely not the strongest. He shines when there are hordes of minoris and he can use his skill, get the skill charge back and repeat, but in situations where there are too many ranged units, assault requires more skill than other classes to keep the massacre going and survive.
It's not that the class is weak, but it does require more skill to do well with it and, in most cases, any class with a melta gun can do what assault does with less effort and risk, while a Bulwark will be slower on the damage output, but is immortal.

Assault it is not the only class that has the: +1 armor for non lethal gunshots, sniper has it too.

Jump pack is not bad, it can do serious damage, it is a bit wonky although sometime bugging (at least with mouse+keyboard).

+50% dmg pistol shot is useful if team knows to play well.

Assault is not bad, i like it, just depend a lot on how people play it if they play like the lone hero and get stomped they are dragging the team, if they play as team player covering classes like sniper or heavy from minoris hordes they are useful, a lot depend also on skill ceiling, assault dont permit mistakes like bulwark.

Maybe I am in the minority but I rather take damage increase against terminus enemies as team perk.
But yeah Assaultis probably the most heavy hitting and melee damage dishing class out there.
The game has been out for what 2 weeks now?
People just haven't figured out yet what the specific roles of certain classes are.

Same, all classes maxed out, all weapons maxed out, all cosmetics unlocked, angel of death campaign is complete first 2 days after launch, 280+h, all achievements.
Personally, I feel no issue on any class. Maybe Heavy is the least likable for me, but it's pure matter of taste. I like melee in slashers, so heavy just not my cup of tea due to absence of melee weapon, what is understandable.
1. Tactical is good and balanced, but feels sometimes too generic. Very effective ultimate, wide range of weapons.
2. Assault deals lots of damage, good mobility, but struggles against flyers, range shooters and green spores (when left unchecked), so he is basically glass-canon for people who play "rush simulator", meaning he probably the most out of all classes requiring mindful playstyle.
3. Vanguard is good with mobility and good against elites, but less effective against hordes (not taking into account melta, this is obvious). Very survivable due to the perk regenerating 10% hp from finishers.
4. Bulwark - immortal, tanking healer with absurd AoE control. Absurd, cause it does a lot while coming solely from perks. It doesn't matter which weapons you use - combination of perks from lvl 3, 8, 9 and 10. Arguably not the top way to clear waves, however still does it good and at least making sure that the rest of the team won't be overwhelmed. If they will add apothecary of some sort, probably has to be reworked to change "bring back contested health" into smth like "taunt nearby enemies".
5. Sniper - elite and boss annihilator, also immortal due to invis and auto-invis abilities.
6. Heavy - basically mobs eraser, but too slow and clunky in comparison.
After the last patch and armor regen from minis - you can easily complete ruthless with a knife only, unless you'll face flying bosses. Taking that in account - everything else, and all those classes, imho, matter of taste mostly.
While there are some pros and cons between classes, they all are reliable, and for those whos telling that "assault is bad", "power fist is useless", etc... pure skill issue and inability to admit that they judging not actual impact but their personal taste and knowledge of how to use it.

pick tactical with grenade launcher and it can kill 8 majoris in 1 sec. Mission 2 boss, while auspec last it can get his hp from 100% to 20% in 2 seconds. Maybe with extra +75% dmg auspec bonus he could kill his 1st phase alone in 2 secs.
Good luck doing that with your assault.

This and Bullwark have to be nerf to Oblivion. And players of these classes should be used in the Daemonculaba.

sir you mispelled tatical... underslung grenade spam is no cap the best dps in the game. period ill accept zero rebukes. you can easily wtf boom the tyrant in a single asupex if you line up krak grenades on 2-3 people and then dump underslung grenades into it. the sheer ammount of burst potential is unmatched by any other class in the game. its sustain is as simple as getting an execute boom all your nades back ggs. pair your underslung with a parry chainsword and you have literally infinite dps at your fingertips.

when played well, Assault FEELS good to play but it isn't the best at anything. There is only one OP build which is thunder hammer build while other classes have multiple OP builds. Assault is pretty much similar to Vanguard where you are rewarded for your skill with satisfying gameplay if mobility is your play style.
