Ideas for operations
Investigate and retrieve sensible data from a gone dark battle barge.

Operations are confined to the locations and time scope of the campaign. While that would, indeed, be dope, I don't think this story accomodates the extraordinary circumstance of a derelict battle barge.

Furthermore, you'd have to kill off an Astartes company from a major chapter in order to arrange for such a derelict battle barge. Imagine the uproar when it will not be the Ultrasmurfs taking the hit.

They were confined to the campaign, but in order to continue they have to branch off as the main story can only accommodate so much.

Operations could be the bridge between SM2 and SM3, even setting events in motion so I don't see why not.

Also, Space Marines are awesome but they are not the most powerful beings in thr universe not by a long shot so, an entire company being wiped out would not be out of touch.

Think of the possibilities and the potential that operations have...

Think of this. We go to this battle barge and we face only what's left behind of whatever wiped the company out. We find that the data is missing, uncover what happened and find out about this major threat. All operations moving forward are we just tailing this threat but only get to actually face it in SM3.

Stealers being put in would work too as they're Nid's. Some crap about the hulk has been drifting about bringing the Hive mind to systems

Stealers + Tyranids in a battle barge gone dark is basically dead space...

I can see them being a faction along side with the necrons in SM3.

Or hunting down said Genestealers Cults in the lower city or a derelict and abandoned part of Avarax Hive City.
