I usually play with my brother now, but most randoms that join the party end up being less useful than a bot so you'll be fine.

my short answer is for strictly pve, the campaigns too short, the operations are fun, but anything above average level, the ai bots are not helpful at all
you need to do the operation missions on harder difficulties to unlock the higher tier weapons, to then do the even harder difficulties.
i think anyone telling you its fine solo is blowing smoke.
Still, if you like warhammer, its probably in the top 3 games id recommend for a 40k fan.
I agree with you that it plays fine solo, however it is possible to do higher difficulties just fine, I did AOD right off the bat. That is, if you're used to dodging and parrying mechanics in other games, such as Souls/Elden ring games. If those aren't games/genres one usually plays, then I'd agree with playing difficulty 2/3 rather than 4 (Difficulty 3 was nerfed a couple weeks after release to be less punishing).
But if you have parrying/dodging down, the game can almost play itself (this mostly also is true with PVE missions), with a few exceptions in the form of the 'Defend pylons/chains/reactor' objectives, which would certainly be easier with other players, but with enough patience is possible solo. I'd argue the single hardest point in the game is the reactor defence mission, that took me several attempts since you can't assign someone to defend the objective while someone else thins the ranks/focuses on Extremis class units, and requires considerable multitasking and effort which is atypical of the rest of the campaign.
Having said that, there is no actual reward or achievement for playing higher difficulties in the campaign, meaning you can play however you want without feeling you're missing out on something locked behind a harder difficulty.
Operations are doable solo, but much more fun with other players.
If you solo them, you get all the resources, but also most of the enemy focus and have to do most of the damage (bots do multiple times less damage then an average player).
IMO the teamplay (even with random brothers) is one big aspect of the game I would not recommend to miss on.
Can't agree. I played through it on 3, and by the final boss battle it was blatantly apparent that the damage scaling was interfering with the wave/phase design of the boss fight. I literally couldn't get the thing done they wanted me to do by doing the thing the entire time before the phase was over and I got hit.
I must say, i had the best Coop Players in this Game overall, evreybody is watching. Since maybe the past 20 years.
I think that's mostly because the Fandom of 40k is a lot friendlier and easier to get on with than in other franchises (Cod, League, Counter Strike), as 40k is a very passionate hobby for many in real life, and when they go from minifigs to mouse and keyboard, they'll act as if they do in a real life tabletop encounter, i.e most of the time friendly
Maybe your are right, as i got on the weekend younger People and they heard in voice im a German and it was a Deasaster, normaly i should have reportet them, but we all fight agains the same Enemy. I got also a lot of Friends that Play Warhammer on tabeltop, and im very happy they found the way to Space Marine 2.
