Just came back to the game, having a problem parrying
I don't remember the enemies being able to hit me so easily after I just Perfect Parried one of them? I'm taking damage while my character is in the Parry animation, and some of those hits have resulted in getting staggered or sent flying and subsequently stunlocked.
Is this normal and I'm just way rusty from not playing for a while (little over a month)? Maybe because I'm using Balanced weapons instead of Fencing?

It is the latest patch that ruined parry mechanics. Hope they fix it soon.

Same, broken after rebind. It works for one parry sometimes then all attempts at parry don't even trigger the animation

I did not rebind mine, and it generally works normally when I press it. I just get stuck doing the animation and the enemies hit me even though I did land a Perfect Parry which IIRC made the enemies around the parried enemy get staggered or interrupted so as to not beat you up like this. I hope it's not an intended change cause it'd be really annoying if it is.

yea parry timing has become pretty weird and unpredictable. one game i have difficulty parrying with fencing and another game i am parry god with balance weapon. and I cannot switch weapon using switch weapon key.

i ma stay away for some time until they fix the game

The changes to parry were balanced +50% aoe stagger radius on Perfect Parry

For fencing weapons there is a bug they are going to fix where the perfect parry window increase that it had was removed. It was 0.465 and now 0.
I've switched and gotten used to balance weapons for the larger aoe stagger now until they correct the fencing parrying timing.

If you read the patch notes about the stagger stuff, you see that this part at least is somewhat intended.
With these changes, Fencing Weapons will still be great versus limited numbers of enemies, Balanced Weapons will be good versus big crowds,

So it's either the reduced radius, leaving enemies out of it unaffected, or it could also be a reduced actor count in conjunction with that. Being vulnerable during the animation is not new, knocking over Minoris and gun striking them showed this pretty clear as you didn't stagger anyone else.

While the change is intended, we don't know if the result is exactly what they hoped for. If the devs see this as too detramental we might see some tweaks to the radius or actor count. But honestly, most fencing weapons aren't worth it anymore and this problem doesn't exist with balanced weapons....

Very strange that it's happening with Balanced weapons then if they were supposed to be getting an AoE increase. I know you don't turn invulnerable to damage while in Parry animation, but the AoE stagger from Perfect Parries is simply not happening some times for me. It's really frustrating. It happened with Balanced Knife and Hammer. Once it happened multiple times on two games in a row I got confused and came here to ask what's up. Gonna chalk it up as just a bug and wait for an update I suppose lol

I got my 100 hours, I think I'm done. This feels like Darktide all over again where they endlessly monkey with core systems and I'm tired of it. There is balancing values and there is this constant pulling the rug out from under people that I can't stand.

Rebinding my keys also broke the game for me. I use Q for parry and mouse5 for ability. Parry doesn't work at all unless I am in a melee attack chain, or have my melee weapon out (when you pull out your secondary it also equips your melee). Bulwark class doesnt have this problem since parry is also shield block. Assault and Heavy class uses ability when I try to parry with Q.
