I admit the marine might seem as though he is slow compared to the secret level marine speed but can you imagine if the dev use a 1:1 speed ratio on this game, how fast the tyranid movement will be, example the lictor? It'll be like watching a youtube channel on 4x speed. I think they slow it down to a 'reasonable' speed.
having said that, i agree they move too damn slow, esp the hammer and fist. I hope for a total rework of the melee in SM3, something faster paced.
If you check out the new weapon showcase gameplay of First Berserker: Khazan particularly the dual wield weapons and the spear, it is fast but not 4x youtube video fast. Space Marines with chainswords and powerswords should move like that and the speed in-game right now of the chainsword should be how fast the powerfist is.
The Space Marine who already underwent the Rubicon Surgery who is supposed to be strong and fast with a Power Armour on is having a hard time with swinging the Power Fist and Hammer, it's as if it's the Elden Ring kind of too heavy two-handed weapon swinging. Like "I shouldn't have used this weapon it's too big and heavy to swing".
I guess Saber Interactive did not level up much from their World War Z game, just look at the weapon perks and class perks, there are so many questionably bad perks that do not build well so you are forced to pick the same perks.
There are so many highly conditional perks that's only there for a few moments. It's as if they want to implement a fear-of-missing-out perk if you don't do this or that.
Who even thought of those perks? Haven't the game devs played other games to get perk ideas from? Synergizing abilities in games like Remnant 2, God of War Ragnarok or Hades?
Also the updates regarding gameplay changes are concerning, instead of buffing the least used and bad weapon (Block Melee), they nerf the weapons that people are already familiar with and do not need any change (Fencing Melee).
There's also a bug with the "Q keyboard button" right now, even if you rebind it, it will still use the Ability function and there seems to be no patch for it to quickly fix it, what in tarnation?
They haven't learned from the Helldivers 2 fiasco at all. They should get notes from Elden Ring = buff the weakest weapons so people are incentivize to use them and leave those good weapons alone.
I've read about this from other people too, Saber likes to slowly drip-feed content, how can they still not add changeable Bulwark banners? Changeable hood cloth color? A Mark VIII helmet without the Ravenwing emblem? And many others they can easily do but won't.
At least they allowed mods that make the game an 8 out of 10 to a 9.5 I guess we have to wait for Space Marine 3 in about 2 to 5 years from now.
